It's not that. A cunt dumb enough to even try that isn't going to listen to people.

Even at $1k here, that's damn good bang for buck.

Watch this space though, Ford will reject any warranty to do with powertrain if anyone even looks sideways at it.

They could do worse and install a black box in the next series. Sorry sir, you have pressed the drift mode button exactly 69 times which voids the factory warranty.

What are you basing that on? Everyone always harps on about voiding warranty and dealers being cunts but I've sensibly modified cars within warranty- yet to find a dealer that cared. And before you ask, yes I made a claim (rear main seal) and no it wasn't an issue.

Sorry, should have been more specific, i.e. engine.

Stick a dump pipe / exhaust on it, engine starts playing up in a completely unrelated way, i.e. coilpack might be fucked, just a bad one off the line that got past QA.
They'll find a way to weasel out of it, and make the customer pay.

Example was Nissan Australia and clutch failures in the D40 Navara, wasn't due to driver error / misuse but a batch or batches of faulty clutches. Nissan rejected warranty claims due to it being a "wear and tear item", which is complete bullshit, Especially if the clutch was barely worn in the first place.

I could be completely wrong, but car manufacturers are out to make money from servicing / replacement parts, and they don't make money out of warranty claims.

It's not the dealer, they get paid either way. It's Ford head office that ultimately pays for the repair and they certainly check for flash tunes on xr6 turbos, trust me I know . Why would the rs be any different.

Luckily when I had mine done under warranty (head gasket) it was over the Christmas break and the service manager at the dealer was referred to me. Warranty guy at head office approved the repair with out further investigation.

So maybe for cheaper repairs there is delegation given to the dealer but on bigger stuff head office approves.

Just wait for the factory approve Mountune kits to come out. They're supported by Ford Australia for the Focus & Fiesta ST.....should be a matter of time until the RS kits are released?

Soon i'd say. They seem like good value for the Fiesta ST. Pity Renault didn't do one for the Clio RS.

Really? Ford need to loosen up. My local Holden dealer offered to fit a cat back, otr and 98 tune at the first service.

The next service it had full system, otr, E85 tune, HSV brakes and Tein coilovers (from elsewhere obviously). Still no dramas.

Picked mine up last week. I've only done 250 KMs so far but they have been 250 of the most fun kilometers I've done in a long time. When you give it some throttle through the turn and you can feel the rear pushing you through and wiggling under hard acceleration - it's a great sensation and it gives you lots of feedback. I'm looking forward to running it in as I've heard they free up a lot around 1600 kms (1000 miles).

It also turns some heads in it's smurf blue. It has some crazy flake in the paint and changes colour depending on the light. I was originally getting frozen white but changed at the last minute, but overall I'm pretty happy with it. Saw a guy gawking at it from his Corvette convertible today in traffic, as was I to his car. Pretty impressed for a humble Focus.

First mods completed have been removing the dealer sticker from the window and fitting the child car seat which adds at least 5 hp.

I'll wait till it's run in and see what Mountune and others come out with soon. Looking to do the exhaust, intake and tune to start with.

Here's a few random phone pics. Will get the SLR out when I get time and take some better ones.Click image for larger version
