Nice! Mine ticked over 1900km today and they definitely free up mate. You need to recalibrate your brain a bit to tell yourself to just feed it power when it starts to run wide...strange feeling the arse push itself around. Launch control is brutal btw...

Also seems to be a bit of a dickhead magnet. Every time I drive it someone just HAS to get in front of me as though driving along at 60 is a race and being in front is a victory. Had a couple of weak moments in the last 24hrs and chopped a FG XR6T and Mini JCW after they wouldn't stop being pests in traffic.

Good to hear, can't wait to hit the elusive 1600 kms!

Yeah I had a Lancer Ralliart do a loser fly by today and let his blow off valve off right next to my window. Next set of lights I backfired in his. I thought that was a fair response.

Lol not a bad effort with the XR6T. Haven't tried launch control yet, how many kms did you wait?

its weird that people with "sport" models (stickers, body kit and fancy seats) of not very fast cars are the ones that want to run you all the time. heaps of them want to run the dat-zilla, but anyone with an actual fast car never bothers me...which is good i guess, because a fair race between quick cars gets into the 150km/h+ zone before you know it.

motorbikes however... every one of you fuckers wants a run, or takes off like a cut snake from the lights.

Trem, when you're talking about freeing up are you referring to engine or gearbox or just the whole package settles in a bit?

          Oo___oO

I think it really frees up after the tune is installed.

Mainly the engine - it's just getting a bit more willing & eager to rev.

Saw a blue one running around my area today.1st RS ive seen. Impressions not in your
face like sti or evos used to be and a lovely little sporti hatch or some thing like that
which is a good thing in my book with there on tap performance and help keep the
nasty po po away. A bit of a sleeper really.

The Commode is only an SS, nothing special, and yet driving in the usual smooth & normal fashion I'm not finding myself out in front of the rest of the traffic.
The rental Mirage, however, I was out in front of stuff like WRX's because they just didn't care.

Soft roaders represent an excellent compromise between the needs of the hardcore 4x4 user and the convenience of a city hatchback. Its clear to see why they have become so popular in todays society.

Lol. Nah, we're just taking off quick - it's half the fun of riding in traffic on a bike.
"Where can we get hold of a Vincent Black Shadow?" "Whats that?" "A fantastic bike," I said. "The new model is something like two thousand cubic inches, developing two hundred brake-horsepower at four thousand revolutions per minute on a magnesium frame with two styrofoam seats and a total curb weight of exactly two hundred pounds."

Example was Nissan Australia and clutch failures in the D40 Navara, wasn't due to driver error / misuse but a batch or batches of faulty clutches. Nissan rejected warranty claims due to it being a "wear and tear item", which is complete bullshit, Especially if the clutch was barely worn in the first place.
Not totally true in this case, Nissan replaced 2 of my D40 dual mass clutch/flywheels under warranty. Both lasted 40thou. Then the dealer installed the Exedy single mass flywheel and clutch kit that I supplied for $300 all while under warranty. I think a lot of it is about the relationship you have with the service department of the dealership.

Nissan did my clutch after 80k kms under warranty on my r51 pathfinder. I guess they had to while the engine was out being replaced with a brand new long motor due to a cracked cylinder liner :D

Haha, this. People think you're giving it but a 5 second 0-100 on a 600 or 1000cc supersport is a moderate launch and one third to half throttle.

Even a lazy launch and short shifting before you get into the rev range where real power is made will put just about any car in the mirrors.

Had a look through one of these at a dealer in Thursday. There was two cars with the hero blue colour, one with black rims, one with silver rims. Black wheels look better as I thought the silver looked a bit plain. The car as a whole looks a bit understated for what it's capable of and I like that.
