Interesting that some of the reviews are mixed and some testers still prefer the Golf R.

Despite all their similarities, I think the Golf R is a completely different beast. RS is a thrillseeker that always wants to play. Golf R is a sleeper with heaps of refinement. Both approaches make for a great car, but are totally different mindsets.

I reckon more relevant comparos would be STi and Megane.

Complaints about inner city living and tramlining etc - a Megane is a lot like that to live with, but it is definitely more civil than a RS

Finally saw one on the street yesterday. Gorgeous car up close

Hmmm great insight to a RS finally something to compare with on the track. I get the
impression they are not ford fans thou. Any way in standard trim against a sti stock
for stock if the RS is only 1.6seconds quicker than a sti with its much stickier tyres
I feel under impressed with the RS times especially after all the the hype that surrounds
the RS. In the real world it would be dissapointing for track work.
