    Driven one?
What say those who own one and drive it? Trem? Mr Rust?

"The new model is something like two thousand cubic inches, developing two hundred brake-horsepower at four thousand revolutions per minute on a magnesium frame with two styrofoam seats and a total curb weight of exactly two hundred pounds."

With the dampers in the normal setting, it's firmer than most cars (for example, it's firmer than a Golf R and the Cadillac CTS I was in last week), but to say it doesn't seem to suit everyday driving means you either haven't driven one or your tolerance for performance cars is incredibly low. It's firm, but not harsh. The sport mode on the dampers is rock hard to the point of being useless on the road - the only time I've used it is to demonstrate to people how stupid it is. But the normal mode? It's fine....my wife has no issue with it, my 60+ year old father commented on how well it rode, my 10 month old baby doesn't seem to have a problem with it, and my 66 year old father in law lost his shit in general about it. I would say it's about on par with a Megane 265 in terms of ride, steering feel, etc.

The problem is that it's only two people. I think you should become the uber driver of choice for the Brisbane PF members so we can make sure it's a robust sample size.

My RS in normal mode is fine on the road. Probably firmer than most cars, but let's remember it's a performance car not a limo. In track mode the suspension firms up even more. I use it occasionally just for fun. My 5 yr old son loves it, and no complaints from no pics. I did have a lowered Evo and this is probably similar. track mode is probably harder from memory.

Honestly, the way journos write about suspension being hard and wanting their VW soft touch plastics and comfort access is way over the top. I think some of them have become jaded by driving so many different cars so regularly.

Mine is getting better the harder I drive it.

I only drove the demo for about 10km (suburban and freeway) but having jumped out of an XR5 with Eibach pro kit springs it was never going to be an issue.

I reckon the spring rates are probably not that much higher, the chassis rigidity is very high so they've been able to give it good ride.

Sounds like a pretty rubbish car, I can't believe the suspension is too firm when you put it in its firmest setting (which is designed for a circuit) on a road that's unsuited to it. They should have made a setting that was suitable for the road imo.

Maybe "soft" settings and "hard" settings would suffice to go along with normal?

My nopics upgraded her focarse ST to the RS, its fun on the road, but the track, fuck me it goes hard, I managed to get 67.9 long track at wanneroo out of it last week, bone stock with the option Michelin pilot sports tyres on it, to put this into perspective, my 33 skyline race car with around 500 neddies and a whole lot more done to it was rolling 66's (its now down at 62 flat with a bunch more power and development) when I first started competing in it, and back in the day my 00 rex with a bunch of suspension mods, big brakes and more boost and front mount was only good for a 73.

They're all kinds of fast, keen to see what they'd go like in targa events with a bunch of suspension and a meaner tune in it..

Nice one. I had the first chance to get mine over Mt Nebo on the weekend. Apart from being fairly rapid shit it was fun....you can keep the thing in check and cover ground like little else I've driven or get lairy & come out of hairpins broadside.

Shit car though as the ride is firmer than a Hyundai i30
