Haha, I worked with a guy the other day and we got talking about cars and he told me he had a 253 VB dunnydore back in the day and proceeded to tell me how quick it was.. I asked him what was done to it and he said it was stock trimatic but blew everything away..
I laughed and told him his car had about 85kw and did 0-100 in about 14 seconds, basically slower than a Hyundai Getz. The fucktard fired up and called me names and said with a cam and a holley it would run 10's.. I walked away

And then said all the HWP cars on the Syd-Newy freeway are basically packing 600hp Bathurst engines. And this was a guy who raced Commodore Cup, is now building a 355 for the same car for IPRA and should have an idea.

Most guys for some reason have an incredibly deluded idea of high speed. "I was doing 220 down the main drag" blah blah blah....

The seem to regard speedos as an actual measurement of real speed etc etc. ie. "My Escort does 220kph all day, it was off the clock!". Which I suppose is 185 or so on a good day...
