Agree even when cruising up to traffic lights, you can just knock it back a gear and use the compression to slow you down and be in the correct gear to take off. Much the same as backing off in a auto

I just lower the gears to match the speed and use the brakes. So I split the load between the brakes and the box.

I just use the brakes - Brake pads are almost always cheaper but are certainly always easier to change than a clutch plate.

About the same as everything else or more? Stock, lots. With a snorkel, fuckloads? But far less buoyancy because such a small cross sectional area, they sink and go instead of paddle wheeling at full lock nose down.

I do, but only just before the corner. I don't go down through the gears when slowing for a corner - So sometimes straight from 5th or 6th into 2nd, etc.

Cool cool. was wondering if the small size was a hindrance but obviously not.

The motor will run under water as well or better then a CRD motor as long as it gets air. The problem is flowing water and a 900kg car

The old patrol that weighs 3tons is probably better in that regard lol

Where can you actually go in a Jimny with a big box trailer?
Beach camping? Nowhere near enough grunt to get through soft sand with a trailer full of gear behind it
                            Cape? nup.
                            Simpson? Hell no.
Up a hill on the highway? lol

Jimnys need mods too. There's one that comes 4WDing with us. Goes almost everywhere but does occassionally gets hung up because of the open diffs. Sometimes more momentum gets it through, sometimes it's just plain old stuck. And it's lifted and got muddies.

Don't get me wrong, I like them, but they're not as good as a Patrol with 33s and 2", let alone $30K worth of mods! And useless for touring.

I mean you tow the jimny in a box trailer.... :p

And I mean for the 90% of cunts who use their shit offroad once a month at a random 4wd spot.

Patrols are useless for touring with that ZD30
