SSS Pulsars are getting onto over 20 years old now, not surprising there's not many around.

The most spectacular decline I've seen was in Holden Astras - they were freaking everywhere 15 years ago, very rare now. Maybe the fact that you had to change the timing belt every time you drove around the block contributed.

In terms of the newer cars I think Captivas are already disappearing, or moving to Logan, one of the two. Any of the budget priced Euros tend to disappear pretty early, probably just as a result of maintainence costs. Though for some reason Peugeot 206s seem surprisingly common still.

I know, makes me feel old as I bought one new in 1998 (still smile remembering the 7000rpm clutch dump and front end skid I did ripping out of the dealership just after the bloke said "now take it easy....."

Yep similar scenario. To work on old cars you need old equipment, and keeping that equipment going is a job in itself.

I see the odd Pulsar (there is one in my street) but rare you see SSS Pulsars. Still a fair few on carsales - $3k seems to be the going rate and around 180-220 thousand km's. Most seemed to have held up reasonably well that are still about, I am sure plenty died a horrible death.

A workmate has a SSS she bought 2nd hand well over 10 years ago, it doesn't have the slugs, and if it's been resprayed they did a really good job.
There's another that parks in the building next door, again no slugs - it may not be a SSS but has the bigger exhaust & sounds like it's ploughing a field ...

I'd nominate the 300C, 2008ish they were everywhere but you pretty much don't see them at all any more.
