I love it when someone has a very ordinary car, but looks after it so well that it becomes extraordinary and worth talking about....

He is going overseas in two months so will be selling it.... I don't think he will have any problems getting someone to buy it who wants an immaculate wagon...... But I suspect he will have trouble finding someone wanting a 1990 Magna :p

I was only thinking the other day that the SV21 Camry is probably the most commonly seen car of its era. Of all the other cars that were big sellers around the same time, you don't see as many VNs or EAs even though there were far more sold; you don't see any box-shape Magnas anymore; you don't see very many KE-KF Lasers; you don't see many N13 Pulsars. But you do still see SV21s (and I guess AE92 Corollas of around the same era as well, but I reckon the survival rate of SV21s is higher).

Although now that I think of it, I haven't seen a wagon for a while - they used to get my attention as a kid because of that strange rear seatbelt attachment arrangement that seemed to involve a mounting point in the roof in the cargo area somewhere.

Maybe its because my mum has one, but I always see a shitload of GD Mazda 626s/Telstars (88-91) Certainly in far greater numbers than any of the later model ones.
Just the other day I saw two on the same stretch of road. Almost always hatchbacks too.

I see the odd SV21, I usually see the same one on my way to work. But still not in the same numbers as the 626s

When was the last time you saw an SV11 Camry though? Those things were rare 15 years ago.
