    Quickjacks or Alternatives?

Has anyone actually got one of these portable jacklift things?

    https://www.quickjack.com.au/

Happy with, usable? Any other versions which might give you some more room underneath.

Those Quickjacks look sketchy as fuck.

I'll stick to a trolley jack and 4 axle stands thanks.

Read the "warranty" page too - dept of fair trading would have a field day...

"QuickJack products are provided and sold as is without any express or implied warranties including warranties of merchantability or fitness for particular purpose. "

          I have one of these

          http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Portable-...wAAOSwYHxWML1~

It lifts higher than that one you are looking at, and you can rock the car so if you are working on one end of it, you get even more lift. 2/3s the price too.

Bump this back up. Given that i keep seeing the Quickjacks around the place, and im now despairing of ever being back in my own place for long enough to have a proper hoist, what is the consensus now?

MCM seem to have one or something like it. Marty?

I was also curious and asked in the MCM thread, guess he skipped it.
"Where can we get hold of a Vincent Black Shadow?" "Whats that?" "A fantastic bike," I said. "The new model is something like two thousand cubic inches, developing two hundred brake-horsepower at four thousand revolutions per minute on a magnesium frame with two styrofoam seats and a total curb weight of exactly two hundred pounds."

we've got a set of quickjacks at work that i wouldn't use, looks like they've bent out of shape. although that might not entirely the fault of the quickjacks the guy who operates them is pretty rdyno/180SX spec

i've compared a few different types of these, settled on maxjacks - https://www.maxjaxusa.com/dannmar-ma...d-package.html

the australian distributor was $1000 more expensive than the US reseller (taking into account the voltage difference) and it's not like they had local stock to clear. was waiting to organise a group buy (had a mate who got a setup for $2k AUD delivered and i've used it quite a few times and it's great) but turns out i don't have enough room anyway

                      Got one of these:

                      http://herohoistsqld.com.au/spider-2...-scissor-lift/

Works a treat and about half the price of those Quickjacks.

You just need a Bunnings paint mixer and 240v power supply to make raising it a lot nicer than the manual crank handle that they ship with.

Quickjack or one of the others? What appeals about the quickjack (and probably a minus about it too, is the two lifts can be spaced as required, whereas the others seem to have a fixed width between the platforms.

Quick jacks. We have been using them for years with the rx3. They are the 5000lb ones and have no problems lifting the commodore etc

Sweet I only need to lift 550 KG to 1300 KG,

Might start saving up for the beefy one just to be on the safe side.

                            Dale,

One other thing can you use just one platform? Would be cool to mod to lift bike up too.
