that combination doesnt exist. and if you are talking about the disco 2, and had worked on one, you wouldnt be recommending it.

IMHO the territory is perfect for the job. not daggy like the wagons, they drive nice like a falcon sedan, but still have a decent tow capacity. space in the back for tools etc, can get awd version for soggy track paddocks.

get the turbo for extra hektik points.

downside is they are reasonably heavy on fuel. have seen quite a few around on LPG injection though, which transforms them.
also they eat balljoints and diff bushes. but is it really work caring about when it only happens every 100k or so?

I bought a BFII falcvon wagon for work last year and it's so good. Bulletproof, comfortable, cruise etc. They tow awesome. You can find a good one for $5k or less. I'd get one of these for sure.

Territory has same rear end as Falcon sedan. Independent that eats diff bushes, sway bar mounts, shocks, etc.

Cheers guys. I'm really anti anything Ford but at this price point I suppose who gives a fuck really ?

Would love a ute but the old Hilux's are fucking uncomfortable, and I'd need a dual cab to take the girls out with the boat on the back.

Not keen on anything expensive for servicing or insurance, just an appliance to get to work (15 to 20 minute run) and tow once or twice a month in comfort.

I've been about as interested in V6 Commodores as I am in giving myself an enema. So must have missed the VE V6's having issues ? What's wrong with them, seems to be plenty of high km ones about ?

Muz's wagon idea makes sense, will have to look at them too. And Territories but Spammy reckons they are total shit. Would actually prefer a wagon but would settle for a sedan...

              Cheers

Another vote for Territory or maybe a 3.5 Pajero.
But im not sure why not tow with the blown V8?
                I climbed Mt Druitt

Plan on never selling so not keen on towing mate. Plus I don't go much on the thought of leaving it at any of Sydney's boat ramps for hours on end...

VZ-VE V6s are quite hit-and-miss. Known for sludging to the point of seizing (even with good service history), timing chain issues, thermostat problems (mainly the actual task of replacing it), electrical problems (trapped in the Holden/Daewoo cross-over), broken handbrake levers... I think the VZ was a nicer car inside, compared to the VE, particularly at the low-end.

                          High-kilometer VZ-VE V6s won't be on the original engine.

if you must have a dunnydore, either go VX2- V8, or VX2-VY V6 only.
