Yeah Captain_Slow, if you don't want a Stelvio it proves that either the lobotomy hasn't taken or you didn't even get one in the first place.

PS. Answer to whole thread is obviously NO, but you do need (not ONLY want) an Equinox (which we are now calling the Captiva).
Soft roaders represent an excellent compromise between the needs of the hardcore 4x4 user and the convenience of a city hatchback. Its clear to see why they have become so popular in todays society.

Perhaps one of the best things for the Kluger is that the middle row is adjustable on rails. Means you can reduce the legroom for people who have no legroom and get more boot space. Coming from the ute too its pretty great to be able to throw in a full half cage without having to put the rear seats down, or a full set of wheels and tyres to take to the tyre shop for fitment.

If they made the same thing in a wagon style I would probably have still bought it.

it's why the cactus exists, somehow they figured the solution to trying to fit cars that are too big into city centres with streets that are too small was to put cushions on the side of car

Isn’t “cactus” something to do with organic felching?

Unsure, but i'm sure it's not the first time a Citroen has been declared Cactus

That's one thing that I loved about the Citroen, all 3 middle seats could slide/fold flat. And it drove like a normal car, granted with Citroen style of suspension tune aimed at comfort rather than picking a wheel up like a 205 GTi.

Europe has long favoured MPV/people movers. Which shit on SUVs for space effiency, and driveablilty. Although it's like comparing apples to onions, even the shitpile Hiace craps all over my Challenger on the road.

That's because PSA realised to save money it was cheaper to put cushions on the side of the cars and make the doors out of thinner metal rather than recyle old Mercedes W123 into new Citroens.

Thing is though the 2CV has the reputation of being pretty hard to break. The Ranger on the other hand is absolute rubbish. Work bought a heap because at the time I think they were the only commercial with 5 star ancap. About a third of the fleet has spent more time in the local Ford dealer workshop than on the road.

No. You don't need it. But it makes things easier.
Had friends who had a 3 door Excel with their kid until he was like 3. They said it was horrible contorting yourself to get him in the back and it just got worse as he started weighing more.
They moved on to a Mazda 6 sedan and things suddenly became less of a chore.

Our family car has been a VW Bora and I drive a Suzuki Swift. The Suzuki Swift probably has more leg room than the Bora, but the Bora has more boot space.
It kind of depends on the design on the car and what room you have too.

When the Bora finally goes to German heaven. I think we will probably get a smallish SUV type thing. CRV/Xtrail/Rav4 type thing.
I was having a look at options the other day and the market is flooded with cheaper Captivas. I don't like the idea of a Captiva though.
