The answer is range rover. Preferably supercharged. Other SUVs / 4x4's pale into insignificance.

Its clear to see why they have become so popular in todays society.

Sure but they'll be relatively unflogged. Absolutely not. Up until 8 months ago where we needed to upgrade to a wheelchair accessible van, the fam hack was a 2011 wm. We managed to fit 2 adults, 2 kids, 2 school bags a golden retriever, a wheelchair, 2 oxygen cylinders and a small amount of shopping. Much easier in the van though.
My thoughts are not untill they hit an age where they are playing sport or musical instruments etc... come into it, or leg room becomes an issue an suv may be the solution.

If you want to haul people, then get a people mover, it’s way more space efficient that any Landcruiser plus the seating arrangement is way more luxurious that any limo. If however you want to go camping regularly, then get the 4WD, otherwise everything else will suit. Doesn’t even need to be a wagon. I carted my little one in a Prius from day 1. Still got heaps of room than any hatchback being a lift back design even with the mega pram in there.

The way I see it, 25 years ago we would have bought a Crown wagon with dickie seats. Given that wagons with dickie seats are now non existent a 5+2 seven seater is the go. They only come as SUVsChris

Unless you also want an occasional 4WD or an occasional tow-vehicle, answer is full-time people-mover.Originally posted by takai View PostWhat if you want an occasional people mover?Soft roaders represent an excellent compromise between the needs of the hardcore 4x4 user and the convenience of a city hatchback. Lol. You have got to be kidding. Full time people movers are far worse on the road than SUVs. Plus as doing the functions of a wagon they are terrible.Originally posted by Captiva Fan View PostUnless you also want an occasional 4WD or an occasional tow-vehicle, answer is full-time people-mover.Chris

I also have a Prius v 7 seater for this.... All the people that I’ve carted weren’t Andre the giant either but it works for me.Originally posted by takai View PostWhat if you want an occasional people mover?

I beg to differ. On the road, people movers perform better having a lower CoG. Plus it has way more room (try having a 1.3m kid stand upright in a Landcruiser vs say an Odyssey). Then there’s the flexibility if you have captain seat in the 2nd row all the way back so that you could literally lie down, legs up and seat belted.Originally posted by takai View PostLol. The reason they don’t get the nod is that we’re all too princess about how it looks (I reckon they look way better than any girly truck) but people are entitled to their opinion on the looks.
