What, that it's restricted to the CBD (which I've heard but can't guarantee is true) or that they have the car at all?

If the latter, why is it a disgrace?
Good exposure for HSV, high visibility for the police, seems like a win-win situation.

      :p
heh, I know a few coppers and they're all lead foots. They give the SS's a hiding. I shudder to think what they'd be doing to the GTO.

          Hey steyr
i just think when the police get expensive cars as patrol cars, it is a total waste of tax payers money. I suppose in this case the car was not paid for by tax payers but it still irritates me...i think it is totally unecessary and pointless.
          Cheers,
          Bill.

I like the brand new WRX's the ACT police have... and with the "ful-sik moite" clear plastic lens light bar on the roof (no shit - it's full rice boy clear, coloured bulbs, etc!) just needs a blow off valve...
What so the copper who can't drive can slam it into a wall the same way he did with the Volvo only quicker.

The fellow driving it can almost steer it with his belly. Imagine he finds it hard to get out of the seat also.

free car, cant complain about that.. the GTO is saving you taxes.. so long as they dont pay for it i dont see the problem?

maybe a few of you have missed the point of the cops having a gto too.. sure, they've slapped the lights and the decals on this gto.. but what about the next one?

also, it makes hsv look good as they're supporting law enforcement.. ie. they dont endorse people driving their cars like dickheads on public roads. i cant see a loser in this scenario..

might not be a good idea to race any hsv's around the melbourne cbd tho :> then you'll be the loser.

Do you guys who've made comments like "at least we can see our tax dollars going to good use " actually think that the Police pay anywhere even remotely close to the retail prices of these cars?

I wouldn't rule out the possibility that Holden could have perhaps even donated a few cars as a publicity stunt... It's not too hard to believe, is it?

That Skyline police car looks like a GTT, not a GTR.

Too right Daz. They wouldn't need cars like them if everyone respected what they work for.

What will they try to catch?? Its not like WRX's are fast (compared with the ealier ones), plus with ACT coppers driving them, it won't be to long before it written off.
