The scariest time probaly would of been my mate showing me how quick his uncles 13b datto 1200 coupe when before he even had his l plates.

Or when one of my mates showed me how he can get his 85 pulsar halfway up the medium strip while going 170km in a 70km zone..

He booted it out of a roundabout , and from the back seat (which stayed level) I could see the front of the car twisting!!! Didn't stop either...
        Chris's Corolla :D

scariest ive been in would be an Orange LX Hatch pushing 500hp or a green datto 1200 ute with fj20t in the wet 5th gear on the highway squirting sideways at 100kph

The one experience that scars me still is doing 110kmh in a mates later-model gemini on the way back from palm-beach at 3am and the car just floating from lane to lane for no apparent reason with the maniac driving refusing to slow down.

The scariest for me would be a friends very modded WRX. Attempted to show me how well it could handle a sharp corner at 100 km/h. I don't know how we actually made it, but we did. I was shitting myself though. I tried taking the same corner in the XY and nearly rolled it. Damn that WRX could accelerate, handle and brake well.

My scariest was just after I put my rb20det into my silvia and I was taking it for a thrash. I had a skyline lower suspension arm on the front left because I had previously crashed just before I put the engine in and this didn't allow me to connect the silvia front swaybar on. I was racing against a blown 'rolla to the local drags around a corner over a rise. (speedo wasn't connected but I reckon I would've been 130-140km/h) and the ass of the car blew itself sideways towards the medium strip. I was looking at the footpath! I overcorrected and slammed the brakes on, did two 360's and stopped....was shitting my pants! The rolla nearly stopped to see if I was alright but I started moving so he left.

A tie between YES20B and my Dato

YES20B on the Barton highway with Jake at the wheel in 4th gear fishtailing across all lanes at over 160km/h. 502rwhp and 175/65/13s was never going to work.

Dato loosing traction at Willowbank at over 200km/h and going for a big slide. That really shoved the wind up me!

We pulled out onto the wet grass on the side of the raod, shot past the other cars, went past where my braking point would have been on dry tarmac, and then stopped like it was nothing!!!!! It was unbelievable! Then followed a max revs in top gear run over some hills, a major scandinavian flick through a corner and finished with me going "but...and...what...shit!!!" :D
I was lucky enough to have a couple of runs in Neals WRC Corolla when he had it, in return for sitting on the side of the road all day, making sure no-one went onto the test road...

It was a phat car. It had great acceleration, but that wasn't the scary part. It had more lateral grip on gravel than most cars have on tarmac, and more braking than most people would ever be able to use. Just an unbeleivable car to be in.

The big thing was looking for somewher to hang on... Navigators aren't meant to hang on, they're meant to be reading pace notes. So I ended up grabbing the front fo my jeans, just so my hands didn't go flying around the cabin... Simply awesome.
Right now I'm eating scrambled egg. With a comb! Out of a shoe!

Friends bog stock 1980s Mitsubishi Colt... I still can't believe that thing didn't fall apart. At highway speeds you could hear the parts separating themselves from the rest of the car in a last ditch attempt at freedom.

                    Cheers,

anyone been in a Turkish taxi ?

this pic must have been the most scariest ride i've been in !

Its a Turban or something like that - based on a Fiat but assembled in Turkey !

Going from Istanbul Ataturk International Airport to Instanbul !

                      why it was scary -

                      1. Pissing down rain at night !
                      2. Turkish road manners - going flat chat and not staying in lanes.
                      3. Taxi without a demister - fogging up on all windows.
                      4. Taxi driver (Yuksel) going on about Gallipoli, like he had a personal vendeta against the war.
                      5. First time in Turkey having no idea which way i was heading and whether i was going to get ripped off.

Man, it was awesome !!! . . . . i really thought i was going to die, or get reported to the Aust. Embassey as a missing person !

fro... looks like I should move to Canberra and join BMSC then

hmm scariest.... hanging out the window on Simon-MRRx7s RX7 at 160 km/hr with someone elses video camera in hand :D

otherwise I can't think of a time except when I've been driving where I got a little scared....

even then it's only been momentary and over when I've realised I'm not going to stuff it into something solid

First ever lap around Amaroo Park in the passenger seat of my GTV when it was bog stock about 3 weeks after I got my P-plates, being driven by a friend at a driver training day. Came out of the pits flat out, comming up to bitupave I was wondering where the track went, came over the crest and went deep under brakes into the loop. Scared the crap out of me because I didn't know where the track went and I didn't realise you could brake that late or turn in that fast.
Now I'm an instructor an get to do the same thing to other poor bastards. Took one guy for a couple of laps in his brand new GTV, I stopped to let him take over, he couldn't believe how quick we were going. Should have seen the look on his face when I said we were only going about 6/10ths. The worrying thing was the guy said "It's nothing like GT3 on the playstation".
Some people are a real worry!!

Hang on scary would have to be any of the 3 cars to wear the GRUMPE plates. Being mates with Pete is a sure way to have a constant supply of worn out undies... :p

Other surprisingly quick cars are a mates 12.0 sec VT SS, and AVENGE's GTR... both are super quick on the street, but at least they handle and stop as well...

The car to take the cake is one of my best mates mothers car. A stock 6 cylinder VK. 3 days after he got his P's he barrel rolled it with 4 of us in the car. Still got me f@cked how we all lived...

                              Paul...
The older i get, the better i was...

A mates RX4 (it has since been sold) with the number plate WANKEL would have to be the most scary car I have been in.
It had a Pac 13 turbo setup in it and it moved pretty hard, even on low boost. While the acceleration was crazy the brakes and handling were just downright dangerous, it could barely pull up, thats what scared the crap out of me. No wonder he only liked hitting it in a straight line on long roads!
