Have you done "end of year FORMAL" duties ?

I think many people would have done this in Sydney !

Tonight, i did a favour for my cousin finishing Yr10 and dropped him and a few of his mates off to their Formal !

But what took me by surprise was the number of hypo cars out doing the same thing ! It looks like the flavour of the months is - asking your older cousin or bro if he could drop you off !!

It became a mini street meet / auto saloon !

I could not get over the number of Skylines, Rotas, hotted up VL's, Rice rockets, old school GTHO's were out !

It was out at Rooty Hill RSL, so the procedure was to drop off your passengers - then do a FISHY was you drove out !!

It was pretty funny ! old blokes and their Mustangs and heaps of VL's and Torries were doing burnouts with Silvias and Skylines along the wet road !

anyone on the forums there ?????? i saw a couple of PF stickers again !!!

I took a mates little brother to his year 10 formal in Leichardt last tuesday in my car (see pic over there<<<<<) and your right there
    were hot cars every where!
Saw two RX3s, the blown Commodore ASYLUM which has been in street commodores, modified 200sxs, WRXs, VLs, etc, it was like a street meet, the Rotors even ripped up a set before the cops rocked up too!

Took a mate's little sis to her year 12 formal last week, in Dad's Buick.

Once I get my car looking a bit tidier, I'd certainly be keen to do more of that kind of thing. For free, of course. *cough* :p

I get heaps! There always good fun too, and some of those little 18 year olds scrub up pretty well! :p

2 years ago i done 2, and last year I done 4 in the one week at various schools around the district.
This year i had 2 that i had to do, but a promotion at work meant i couldnt do them and had to palm them off onto mates with cars.

I started that craze! LOL Well maybe not..... but the norm for school formals a few years back was everyone rocked up in limos and not much else..... @ my yr10 formal (about 4yrs back) me and a mate rocked up in NOS355 a mad VN commo running nos and a 355 stroker if u didnt get that from the plates, while everyone else was coming in normal cars (a couple of decent 1s, but yeah heaps of ppl were saying the car i was in was the best of the nite..... esp when he ripped it up going out the school gates :D)

Then @ yr12 formal in a VL Corsa Turbo (YUMMM!) and others had mad cars too, so blended in more

some of the Rota's there really need some tuning ! (or do they run rich usually !!)

I could be wrong, but the waiting queue to drop off was smelling like a night at the drags ! Heaps of hypo cars idling with some revving to get the attention of the WESTY chics who had turned out !

Some cars were so low (lowered springs + carrying kids in the back) - the forward and back routine to get over the speed hump and entrance was mandatory ! :D

Also quite amusing seeing how many you can fit in the back seat of a Supra !! or Silvia ! . . . . let alone getting out !

I lined these two up for my sister and her friends this year.
                      Dodge Phoenix and a Monaro...

The photo doesn't do justice the size and presence of the dodge. It has a rather angry sounding BB 460.......as we drove along the strand (I came for the ride in the Monaro) EVERY single person turned and looked. Awesome!

So many more hot cars turning up there than fours years ago when I had my grad. Don't think I saw a single Limo this year....

Edit: A better pic. The more I see this car the more I like it. :D

I did the "drop and run" for my sister and her friends Year 10 formal last year.
They made me do a couple of fly-bys against their other friends who took the sad option and went in a WRX.... :p

The burnout action cost me a set B530 Bridgestones, but the teacher out the front gave the thumbs up, and the camera action from pimply faced 16 year old males made it all worthwhile...

I got a bottle of Wild Turkey from sisters best friend who is incredibly gorgeous, and i've promised her i'll save it until she is old enough to share it with me... :D :D
(Hmmm, just a few months to go 'til 18.... :p )

I also remember GRUMPE taking his girlfriend Simone to her formal in a certain green wheel tubbed beast... that spun a few heads...

                        Paul...
The older i get, the better i was...

Ahh the formal mine just passed.

Yr 11 formal i had 2 shelby cobra replicas which both left the venue sideways, which followed with mighty roars and cheers from my whole yr, even a smile from my principal.

Yr 12 formal just passed, i got a few of my mates to take me and some mates, a supra, 12NVE 200sx, and 51UTZ R32 skyline. The best part was the pre party, this one kid decided he'd run around and tell everyone i was full of shit aobut 3 hi-po cars, then infront of aobut 50 parents and around 100 kids, they all ripped it up down the street. Everyone was quite impressed and his face was priceless, as well as many dropped jaws as we entered the formal scene, although the best entrance was made by a mate who came in a saab convertible, with 2 elvis impersonators who wlaked him to the front door.

                            JS
Powerchip brought me back to PF!
