If you'd bought a holiday which included the USA, for at least three people, on your credit card; you'd be getting close.

Turns out mum had been paying off all the wages and acutally then put the card into 'debit' i spose u could say., so there was actually more than the limit available.

but the holiday company docked a large sum at the same time from vegas as mum was sitting on netbanking in sydney.

they thought it was credit card fraud. All sorted now.

im currently in yuma arizona and in fact heading to Lake tahoe for some skiing

hehe so true, still its pretty massive, spose its just had bits and pieces tacked onto it as it needed to get bigger. i remember my dad asking some guy near the airport which way to go to get there. he told us the way then gave us this advise "make sure you drive around here always with your doors locked and windows up, and if anyone jumps out in front of the car... run em dead" and he was deadly serious. dodgy place LA, and one i wont bother returning to

most american airports are crap!!!! after flying around the u.s for a month when we got back home its easy to see why sydney airport was voted airport of the year a view times......
                  oh yeah L.A/hollywood, very dodgy.......
in hollywood we got offered a t shirt, that someone was wearing mind u for a few slices of out pizza!
in L.A trying to get back to anahiem after a nba game, we ask a cop how to get to union station, and he laughs and says, " are you guys walking? man, u can walk it, but i wouldnt walk through there with out my gun!" so we ended up jumping in a taxi
                  america= alot of wierd people!

Yes LA seemed to be very dodgey place and the airport was a little tacky

Driving down to San Diego from LA along the coast there was one town that was amazing car wise.

i think it was either Dana Point or Oceanside but it seemed like everyone had a porsche, jag or hummer. There were ferrari, hummer and porsche dealerships as well!!!!!

                    soooooo many $$$$

and new cars have 0% interest financing!!!!!!

Yeah, LA can be mighty dodgy

Spent some time in Studio City last year and there was a siege at a servo 200 metres from our apartment! 12 news helicopters hovering above us all afternoon and the SWAT (SWOT?) dudes running all over the place. They asked our neighbour if they could use his apartment so they could shoot the gunman, as it had a clear view of the servo.

Eventually the gunman shot himself.....supposedly....although after watching the cops storm the building with guns blazing I doubt that was the case.

lad13s - I agree, all those towns in Orange County are a car enthusiast's dream I remember seeing a dealership on the side of the PCH in Newport with a multitude of Ferraris, Porsches and the like. Then a couple of doors up was a place selling massive yachts!

It's a pity you're not there during summer - there's just something about bikini-clad California Girls driving around in exotic convertibles :p
