New Laws - Would you run?

Try to keep the flames to a minimum on this one but the questions begs to be asked.

If all of a sudden you see the police with their siren and disco lights behind you and you are under the impression that you are going to lose your car because of the confiscation laws and you have just been in a street race, are speeding, left a skid, chirped your tyres, accelerated hard (test of speed). What would you do?

you would have to pull over, if your dont your just digging a deeper grave for yourself. you would only run if you robbed a bank or something very big
you can beat an egg, but you can't beat-a-root!

I rather be caught than speed away and run someone over.

Stop and pull over for me. I am too soft, would be looking over my back all the time awaiting for them to come a knocking on my door.

i'll get flamed i know i will but i have done it

a large group of us were caught in an industrial estate a long time ago doing silly shit.. 5 cops came and busted everyone.. i decided to sneak around the corner and pretend to drive off while they were busy busting everyone else up.. anyway this undercover D screams down the road behind me... so i'm thinking pull over or change down?

naturally i changed down... this was LLAAAAAAAATE at night... 4am.. pulled out onto main road.. boosted out of there and then went down some side streets turning left right and so on and lost them

its scary as.,.. i went home and didnt sleep after that

that said,... i was driving the other day to work and cop was going the other way.,.. he musta thought i was speeding or something cause he braked and did a u turn.. i then just went around a few corners in the AE86 and then turned off at my turnoff and he kept going by... sooo.. dont know lol

I would most likely pull over for my first offence. And most likely for the 2nd as well, most likely for 3rd but in the heat of the moment or if any panic hits, when you don't have time to think out your actions I think the option to run may look attractive.

The poll was just out of interest as well because a lot of car groups have said that more people will run when faced with the situation of losing their car. I thought that I would ask the question to the people on performance forums and I'm also sure most pf's would be interested in the results.

Edit: Last paragraph edited because it didn't make sense!:O

              I didn't vote.

I wouldn't be stupid enough to do things in my car to put me in the position to get it taken from me.

Take it to the track I say.

                it depends..

but i think saying that the new laws are stupid because they'll encourage people to run is quite possibly the stupidest thing to do. you can't justify breaking the law to avoid being punished for breaking another law, it'll just re-inforce the reasons for the confiscation laws.

I figure if you're in your own car, you might as well pull over. If they are chasing you and only you, then I'm sure they'll get your rego details, then just rock up the next day and take it anyway, plus hit you up with some more fines for running.

Yeah, can we vote for that option?

Seriously, the only way I'd get caught is if I wasn't doing anything wrong, and the police were playing a game of standover tactics. In which case I'd be excessively pissed off, and would certainly pull over in a fit of self-righteous fury. I doubt I'd say anything particularly nasty to the cop that pulled me over, but there'd be a flurry of letter-writing & legal action immediately afterwards ...
Soft roaders represent an excellent compromise between the needs of the hardcore 4x4 user and the convenience of a city hatchback. Its clear to see why they have become so popular in todays society.

Ever figure it might be easier on you if you acknowledge your situation and pull over immediately. If you try and run, they'll only come down heavier on you when they catch up with you.

As for poll options, I'm with Forg.

New poll option added due to popular demand.

                              Depending on the situation,

I would pull over, but if I were in
a situation where I could get away
from Mr Piggy I would put my foot down
and hit Hi Boost and say Bye Bye.:D :D :D :D
