I'm not quite sure why they would bother with a WRX for HWP duties in Canberra.. Any idea why exactly they are required?

speakin of undercover cars, at work few nights back me and a mate were outside for a break, (work is just near aspley maccas for those who thats relevant to) and we saw two uniformed police officers hop into a light blue VN complete with group A kit even down to the dodgy faded tail-light syndrome all VNs seem to suffer from. thats somethin u wouldnt pick at the lights...
So what if it looks like a family car?!!

                They look scary !

But not as scary as the ACT WRX police cars !:D
Haha crap, there were cops there??? I drove Melb-Syd over the weekend and did not see a single marked cop car on the hwy. Lucky I wasn't speeding too much

Does NSW even have any cops? Some of the posts I read on here make it sound like they are everywhere! But I only saw like 2 marked patrol cars in 3 days (and a couple dibby vans keeping the kids in Albury in line hehe)

LOL, good one WattsyLX. I wasn't too keen to be the first to say it, but most of the female cops I have seen are "not bad!!"

I don't know if they're reducing headcount (they wouldn't publicly announce it if they were), but they're definitely swapping high visibility on the roads for radar/laser cameras.
Soft roaders represent an excellent compromise between the needs of the hardcore 4x4 user and the convenience of a city hatchback. Its clear to see why they have become so popular in todays society.

There used to be a Camry or two as well, a year or so back. I know, I got done by it...
Right now I'm eating scrambled egg. With a comb! Out of a shoe!

does anyone know what the law is about having to pull over for a police officer? with cops driving more and more unusual cars how are you actually going to know its a cop? if i was driving around in a very nice car and suddeny a faded blue vn started flashing red and blue at me i'd be very hesitant about stopping.

dan, if its a police car, then they probably wont have an issue with you driving sedately, after you awknowledge their presence, to either a well populated place, or a cop station... or until a marked car comes alongside... as long as you aren't an idiot about it...
