Met him once too at Nelson Bay a few years back... I said 'gidday' and kept walking, he said 'It's OK, you wont bother me'... He gave me an autograph and a thanks for being considerate enough to realise he was on holidays with family...

A very sad day indeed. Motorsport in Australia just won't be the same without him, a real character and a fantastic commentator. He will be sorely missed.

Although i didn't know him personally, i remember seeing him commentating on TV all the time, and remember him being quite a character.... You will be sorely missed by your family/friends/fans Baz
