Yeah I'm after a new camera myself, I gotta get all my pics off cd's etc. and post some I've done with a shit camera (Kodak DC3200, though they came out good considering) I was just wondering the G1 was recommended for $300-$500 which is how much I have to spend, haven't found one for sale but I've found others for sale in the price range which sounds good.
The new A70 Canon and S50 aswell as a G2.
Now I want one with manual shutter speed adjustment and zoom would be good, would either of these be ok with those feature wise?
Just took a look at dpreview.com and yeah they look good, but in order of preference (price wise) it seems to be A70, G2 then S50. So that's the order I'll go if I was to buy them.
I'll post some pics soon btw
Lovely photo's btw guys!!!

does anyone know of a digital camera that takes sepia (spelling???) pictures..... if so can you please let me know of models and prices as i am thinking of upgrading my digi camera.
canon g2 will let you do black and white I think then you might be able to do sepia effects in photochop.. normal slr can use infrared film gives good effects..
The story is well-known: Somewhere in the mountains the Finn picks up a beautiful lady which even now had a breakdown. The beauty is impressed by the A-Class beast and says: "That is a fast car." At Häkkinen's hint that the car has two engines she says with disparaging view: "Oh yes. And you are Formula-1 world-champion."

Most medium priced digital camera upwards should allow you to take sepia photos. I have a Canon Powershot A40 which is more or less a medium entry-level camera and it has the option for sepia. So I would think that anything better then this ($600 when I purchased) would allow you to do this also.

The new A70 does sepia, I just got mine yesterday for $600 dollars, nice camera but feels a lot flimsier than my old A40.
(I just wanted a small upgrade, hence A40 -> A70, still wish for more zoom though )
danielpenna, get the teleconverter lens, I got it for my a40, gets you twice the digital zoom (2.4x to be exact) and is a good upgrade IMO. Also good that I can use it when I upgrade to g2/g3/a70 in the future and possibly other brands as well.
