i think it was on the friday aswell.
i went on sunday, so can't confirm it, but thats what i heard.

There was also a vh sle which on it first lap hit the first bend, not the best start to the day.
It was a VH commodore, and it happened on sunday. and it wasnt the flywheel, it was the fan.. Why you would still run a mechanical fan when you have 8000rpm of revs beats me.... Electric fans !

U guys are completely missing the point here. If you are frequently doing burnouts in all the public carparks, cops are going to frequently hassle you with defects and infringement notices. Go to some out of the way places and do them.
And for Benno, DON'T you believe all 4wd's can't lay rubber.

Nor do I, but i agree with his way of thinking, its better to be able to stop and turn, than go.... so put the best tyres up front.

As for the money thing, well, lack of money is never an excuse for driving an unsafe car.
Hence why he borrowed tyres until he could afford new ones. Maybe you dont bother reading before replying, but did you notice i mentioned that he needed his car to get to and from work. So therefore to get money he has to use his car.... in your way of thinking, to use his car he has to have new tyres (which he cant get unless he works.... see the catch22 here???). Oh, and you may have also noticed that while his original ones would have been unsafe, they were still just legal.... so he legally could have continued driving on them, but wanted to be safe.....

BTW, how did his rear tyres get worn down before his front ones? I can't imagine his car does that through normal use, and if it did he could rotate the tyres so they all had roughly the same tread depth.
Yet again not reading before replying. he put his "good" tyres on the front, seing as that does all the steering and most of the braking. They didnt get worn down from being a dickhead and doing burnouts.... not everyone can replace 4 tyres at the same time, so not every tyre will wear exactly the same as the rest.... thats why he needed to change 2 and the others were ok.....

There is another school of thought on different size tyres front 2 rear.
For safety reasons, you have the narrower tyres on the front. By doing this, you have more direct feedback, as to the handling limits of the car. If you have the wide rubber on the front, you can enter corners at a speed which feels quite comfortable, but as the weight transfers to the outside , control of the rear can be lost, which in a worst case sinerio, could have you spinning into the path of an oncoming car. With the sh!tters on the front, you will already know the limits of the car.
Obviously this school of thought is no good for frying your tyes till they blow

Very interesting thread indeed. I think the burnout on one lane and cruising on the other lane is just out right dangerous. I cannot believe they allow that to happen. Thanks to them, our public liability insurance for events are going to go up.

As for the other topic of chasers on the back.... I am sure professionals like Gary Myers, Peter and Debbie Gray, Shannon Peterson don't drive around in their hotted up cars with chasers on the back everyday, trying to do burn out at every street corner or with music pumping to the max going down the mall on a Friday night. Although it's annoying if you are sitting outside having a good meal, but it's a laugh, because by doing that we know they have small d!cks. :D

As for tough look with chasers on the back.... well unfortunately the majority of the people that does that only drive a crapy commodore or falcon dumped low with crackling exhaust and chasers on the back. On that account.... stupid try-hard look is achieved.

I am not getting involved in this argument as it has way to many sides to it and i cant be bothered.

What i will say is ....... Sleaze what kind of comment is "It's only two Commodores." That is the most stu[id comment i have ever heard, there was no need to make it and it proved nothing.

A crash is a crash, whatever the cars envolved, these ppl would have put a lot of time, money and heart into those cars and comments like yours are not needed.

Did you stop to realise as well that ppl were injured regardless of the cars.
