The track is the same. The widebody starions just ran wider rims to fill the guards.

cheers for the info on the track, I have always had a soft spot for the starion, my "uncle" owned one fresh form the showroom back in the early eighties, he poured a heap of money into the bugger, owning it for years, in fact I believe it is still floating around in the family, he absolutely loved it. For its time it was a gun little car.

edit forgot to add that the car looks great, could be turned into a fun circuit car with a bit of cash thrown at it.

I love those things. Saw a fair few while I was living in the States. They are free over there. So is anything that age though.

I have seen 2 widebodies advertised in the trading post - both were around $25,000. Both were gone within a week. Unfortunately, I had to settle for a rusted out POS narrowbody

Probably like other things in Japan, lots of name games over there, more so in the 80's of course. Aren't there, in a similar sense, Corolla Truenos & Corolla Sprinters along with Truenos & Sprinters? They probably liked the Colt nameplate, and sold a few cars, so started calling everything a 'Colt'.

[PS. I've now seen the widebody in Seinfeld, parked in the Yankees' car-park ... exactly the same colour as the one in the photos that 1200det started this thread with ]
Soft roaders represent an excellent compromise between the needs of the hardcore 4x4 user and the convenience of a city hatchback. Its clear to see why they have become so popular in todays society.

Colt Starion was the european release name - apparently they have some sort of affinity with the colt name over there.

IIRC, everywhere else it was plain ol' 'starion' (japlish? stallion?)

just thought I'd throw a bit of (mildly insulting) trivia into the pot :p

forg, truenos and levins had different headlights, and sprinters were either not in japan, or were ae85's.
And babelfish japlish translation is "Star Lyon"
