So then we proceeded to tryout other people's keys since his lock was kinda worn out...and I was SOOOO happy when a random key opened the door and we were able to gain access to the car again! :D
buahah i did that with my mums 626 when i locked the keys in at maccas when i was on my p's. we tried everything then one of my friends puts her key in the lock and it turner. what was even worse was that it turned the ignition too :p naturally everyone else had to have a go and every key we tried worked hehe. only one could turn it over though.

I seem to be very good friends with the RACQ people now days. I have a very annoying habit of locking my keys in the car at the worse possible time, and whats even worse is that my car is very hard to break into for some reason.

Yeah... for some reason I can take my keys out of the ignition and keep on driving trouble free. :D Does anyone know why that is??

the original Toyo Kogyo keys for my Mazda 1300 not only open my RX-7, they work on another 1300 coupe I had, my neighbours RX-3's, RX-2's, Capella's and a whole other stack of pre-1980 Mazda's.

        scary!

Grinno: probably some of the tumblers are old in the lock and getting stuck, alot of older VW's i've driven you can do that with too..

the older the lock is, the easier it is to go to a car of the same model and open it up. like all things locks and keys wear over time.

i locked my keys in the car once, it was impossible to get them out (the chromework doesn't come off) took a professional locksmith with some pretty good tools (ie aircushions etc) about half an hour to open it!

I've locked the keys in the car twice.

Once was in Macca's arpark, with the motor running and stereo up pretty loud. People thought I was showing off standing next to it...I was just waiting for the spare key to arrive!! :D

And the other time, just the stereo was on. Took NRMA 2 seconds as per usual, with that doorstop looking tool, and the velcro packing strap.
