There is a reason why Dyno Dynamics have stuck with DOS based software instead of windows.

I still haven't seen anything that comes close to the level of accuracy and precise measuring that a DD dyno has.

6Boost, believe me the strapping down on the dynologic is a lot easier than a DD & its in the floor.

Ustasa, have you had a look at the dynologic stuff? If youre interested I'll email you some info.

What reason would that be? Windows is still DOS based no matter what Microsoft says. The only difference between the look of a DOS app and a Windows app is the visual user interface. The inputs from the dyno wouldn't be any different, and isn't that what's important?

DD will tell you Dos is more reliable...what they wont tell you is that they are developing some windows based stuff now...

Is that a bad thing? DOS IS generally more reliable. They'd be developing Windows software because Windows is more popular and more supported now. You work for Dynologic or something edo?

Ok Edo e-mail me some info on this new dyno, can’t hurt to see what it has

Deathmetal, it’s due to the way the dyno software samples the information and processes it. All the dyno’s that run on windows that I’ve seen up till now have poor sampling and processing times. Their was a technical term for it and I’ll ask my partner what it was but everytime DD went to go to windows software they found they couldn’t beat what they already had (DOS).

Dynosteve, some top power gains you got there. Get some decent rubber on the car and low 12’s will be a breeze.

                I dont work for Dynologic.
I have helped them in a very small way during the development.
Basically its a dyno that is designed & built by people who have used DD & others for years & thought they could do a better job. They are happy to receive feedback from experienced operators who have had a good look at their product & compared it to the competition.
Ive seen both in operation & I think Dynologic has some big advantages.

Ustasa, PM me your email addy.

From the writeup on AS Dynologic sounds like the next generation in dyno's.. I think you would have to be mad to buy a new DD dyno now without first having a really close look at the Dynologic first as it seams like a much better setup...

And as edo mentioned, a cortina with real grunt is an accident waiting to happen...
Lol .. I was thinking if you wanted to do a crazy conversion that was worthwhile stick this

                  Into something like this:

It would be a heap of work but it would be an awesome car if you did it properly modifying the firewall ect to sit it back as far as possible, relocate the battry to the boot ect.. Maybe even fit a widebody M3 kit as you would need fairly wide wheels to try and get the power to the ground.

There doesn't seem to be a problem with DynoJets and wheelspin, seen a few Poopras with over 900rwhp (US Spec HP) not get wheel spin on them, would the reason for this be that they use a single large rolling drum?

Im very impressed at the level of engineering and technology in the baxr6t engine, and their n/a counterparts.

It was designed and built in australia, for australians using australian engineering. In a way i feel proud, as we have produced a compariable product that can yield fantastic results from common 'turbo style' upgrades.

Imagine if the car was lighter, by 200-300kg, that would be special.

What does a new xr6t crate motor go for these days? I picture heaps of converisons in the next 10 years in a variety of cars using this engine.

Im happy because there are hardly any RWD turbo cars comming out of japan due to the new emission laws, but we have our own turbo king. I hope ford realise what they have here, and build it for another 10 years.

If you could get to 500hp at the wheels using only bolt ons, with out seperating the head/block, then both Ford and the Tuner have done extremely well.

How does the xr6 handle? I see one at uni all the time in the olive color, and i just love it from every angle. The front is menacing and the rear is seductive lol, he has chosen a manual (good choice!).

DYNOSTEVE: How many kms has your example done, and what was your running in proceedure (elaborate please ).
What is the stock turbo good for PSI wise in this engine combo (its a GT35?)
AVO have a kit as well, so you might want to predend your a 'protential customer' just to pick thier brains a little on what they are doing.
Good luck with everything, and i hope you can crack 500hp at the wheels, and hook it up nicely for an 11 sec pass.

Ill be excited to see what big workshops such as JPC, Rajab etc do to this monster. close to 1000hp ide imagine. Might not run as fast as their Turbo VLs due to the weight, but they should get monster engine figures out.

                            Kudos to you Dynosteve.

I don't know why people that have them above ground don't just do the job properly??
Picture paints 1000 words... strapping down too hard is just downright dangerous, public liability/accident just waiting to happen....

Note : dyno is not recessed into floor.

I priced a long motor for the XR6-T brand spankers from Ford which was around $5k. No ancilliarires or manifolds etc, but everything between rocker cover and sump.
