    I was discussing with a freind how amazing it was geting that sort of performance from a simple bolt on kit with no internal mods or whatever.

    If you wanted a 4door RWD sedan with that level of power, high tech suspension, high tech engine with flat torque curve and reasonable economy, smooth idle ect, ride, handling, braking, sound system, tiptronic style auto, drive by wire throttle, looks, the only option we could think of (besides an optioned XR6T with steves kit) would be a E55 merc. I guess someone could also make a overdrive pulley kit for the S-Type R but thats still a big diff in price. Course thoes euro cars have better build quality ect but the overall package for the $$ cant be beaten.

      Well done, I would be very interested in this kit of yours for my XR6t. Any idea on cost yet Steve? How do you think the Auto will hold up? Mine too is Auto. I would like a 12 sec street car!!

        great result. amazing mph. i didn't think you could get the heavy car up to that kind of mph with so few mods.

        looking forward to the next phase of development!

                  Instead of just making it a one off instead make a kit for GTR's then sell it to the Japs - call it the "4000cc, double stepless Vtec, big single GT series turbo, drive by wire throtle" engine upgrade for the GTR.. How many japs would go for that considering they pay big $$ just for a 3L commy engine block. Just gota weld HKS, JUN, Top sectret onto the rocker cover

                      I dunno if a falcon engine would fit in a datto...
                      Everytime I look at them I think its a bloody big lump, tall, wide...just big. That would be that 4 litre thing eh?

                      Seriously it would go hard as hell in a TC/TD cortina & not hard to get approved given they had the 250ci (4.1) standard...pity they dont stop or steer...

                        They won't be as simple to drop in as people think. You can't just take the engine+loom, etc - there's drive-by-wire throttle etc you have to consider as well. Clever people with money will do it, but they won't be common swaps for a while.

                              Anything is possible, but a 250ci alloy head motor doesnt leave a lot of room in a cortina and with the recessed firewall I dont think the turbo & exhaust would fit in there.

                              As for ecu, you could convert back to cable throttle etc and run aftermarket ecu but the number of functions the factory ecu runs would make this highly unlikely.

                              And as edo mentioned, a cortina with real grunt is an accident waiting to happen...

                                Looks like my time prediction was right, (flat 13/high 12) but the power was way off.

                                I didnt expect it to make that much power.

                                APS have a 315kw at the wheel kit on their website. They dont explain much about it, but you can get a general idea of what is available.

                                I dont think you can buy it yet.

                                Ide be interested to see how much power can be had out of the stock system (well stock ECU at least) and how mubh power it does before it goes boom.

                                If only they made it lighter, 1600odd kg is pretty heavy, even if you got 300kw at the wheels.

                                When are you going to run slicks next? that should solve most traction problems and definately get you in to the 12s, if not mid 12s.

                                Could you give us an estimate on what you expect it to cost as a kit roughly (PM me if you dont want to go public yet). Are you going to have a staged kit (for the budget concious who want good bang/buck ratio in intervals) with diiferent levels of compelxity and addons (ie: stage 3, change factory computer, injectors etc)

                                Have you changed the computer, or are you running a Unichip ?

                                At what power do you think the factory turbo is not going to cut it?
