There's a reason why parking zones are marked front or rear to kerb. Ease of unloading a vehicle isn't one of them. It mainly deals with visibility when entering and exiting a parking bay into the path of traffic and causing obstruction to traffic when leaving a bay to rejoin traffic.
This is a big open field with more visability than anyone can handle. It is a high school set down area/car park which is one way. This is at about 10am too, so there is no-one anywhere to worry about it being a safety/visablility issue. Seriously what am I meant to do?

The officer in the local station told me to write a letter to the traffic superintendant in that station, maybe its different up here away from the big smoke?

Work said they would pay the fine, I don't see why I should be fined though, it the principal of it.

I really don't care as I'm not paying it (work will if need be), its just the principle. If I got hurt obeying the parking sign the govt's revenue would be paying workers compo (wouldn't they?).

I forgot to mention that the uneven ground I was refering to behind the car park is a storm drain.

Bozz - His profile listed his occupation as a Govt hired goon, from that and his replys it sounds kinda like he resents the job a bit, either that or its a stab at everyone bagging them all the time for the revenue raising tag. :p

BTW I don't mean this as any sort of personal attack, and I assume you are a bloke cause you listed women as an interest, if you are a dyke I'm sorry! :D

opps, again, no personal attack intended.

Ok first let me start off by saying that it's been over a year since I worked in this field but that I did work in this field in a Major Australian City.

You have basically stuff all chance of getting off regardless of how you try to word this. You parked illegally and therefore you must pay the fine.

For example - I live on a busy street and my driveway is full. My neighbours have lost their drivers side mirror a couple of months ago to people who don't seem to know how to pass parked cars so I parked my car on the nature strip. I received a letter on my windscreen from my local Ranger telling me that I must move my vehicle as it is illegally parked (Though being on the nature strip is much safer than on the road) The vehicle was then moved to the road where it was parked Legally. Since this time (2 weeks) The vehicle now needs a new drivers side mirror (The PRICK who hit it and smashed it didn't stop) and there has been a minor hit in the back (Again hit and run) Yet the council will still fine me if I park my car on my nature strip out of the way of the flow of traffic. It makes no sence but thats the law and NOONE especially not a magistrate will reverse it.

As I said I used to work in this area in fact I was the person that answered all of these types of letters and there are guidelines and if you have parked illegally then there are no grounds for the fine to be revoked. You must cop it sweet. They won care about workcover issues. They are not part of the "Guidelines"

I feel that this infringement notice is unjust as I was parked in the space “improperly” to make it easier to unload quite a deal of computer equipment in a safe ***matter***.
              manner perhaps?
