Ahhhhhh Levin - your pics are working again - brings back HAUNTING memories (and the annoying, but soft 'beep' when ANY button in the car is pressed (incl the blinkers)

Reminds me also of when the head gasket FINALLY blew (fixed under warranty ) the screen changed from showing my (total lack of) economy to japanese instructions of what to do now that my temp had hit the red - found it very amusing

Also - the auto is rather strong - put up with my jamming from D to 2 to L downhill coming into my driveway (nice comp lockups) and also slamming it into P while doing 20kph+ (rattle rattle rattle then SCREECH as P finally engaged) - and the ol' rev to 4000rpm in N and dump it into D

Mind you this was after i REALLY HATED the car (it was cursed, a bad example of the breed)

tomj I've seen something very similar to that price for the Supra. I was looking through an old Wheels magazine recently, and almost dropped in it the toilet when I saw the price for a Supra in Australia then(1995 I think)....ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY THOUSAND DOLLARS!

Makes you appreciate them a little more knowing their crazy prices when new, not that the price of a car means much, but you know what I mean.

The beeping is certainly a bit much, but it still doesn't better the chimes that went off in my Levin when you hit 106kph or whatever it was! :p

You must have been lucky. The auto is (IIRC) the A340E as used in the TT autos. That didn't stop me blowing the guts out of two of them. The second let go in the middle of the Captain Cook bridge in the rain at 120km/h. Nothing makes you want to convert to manual faster than a near death experience.

              Haha, I don't mind, I didn't buy the Soarer thinking it was a sports car! It's my luxo-barge. :D

these 'luxo barges" can have a lot of bite with the correct mods. thats why im such a fan of them... to be honest i like the 30 series alot more, but even the 7m ones are nice cars.

oh - another thing that was, umm, interesting was when taking off up a hill in the wet, most of the time when the auto hit second gear you'd be sideways (i mean looking out the side window to go forwards sideways)

and no - this was NOT taking off hard!

it was actually fun, except for the first time

when you're in peak hour traffic - the middle of 3 lanes and you're not expecting to go sideways in a luxo-barge with VERY delayed reaction to steering (had the air-bag suspension)
