Customs Sucks..whats the way around it??

this was fedex shipped too.... i asked about tax before hand and was told $60 bucks max... so i ordered the stuff. The wheel here is just short of 900 bucks, and even after the conversion of USD to AUD i was still pretty much saving under half after shipping. now im still ahead, but only by a few hundred..


I might see at work who has reles in the states and see if theyll post it to me.. ill just wire the money to their account.

or I might send the other stuff to my reles in the UK and they can send it over... man they always send over packages, we have never once been hit for any taxes.... mind you they have been presies and stuff.

Is the wheel legal for a street car?

If not, then it will fall under a different tax bracket (race cars parts are taxed lower than street car parts), is there a local tax office you can talk to? I've found them to be really helpful here in Canberra.

You could buy the parts here and then you wouldnt see the taxes.

When ever i buy stuff off eBay off other country, i always ask to ppl to mark it as a gift. There is a box that you tick on the customs sticker for gifts. then no Tax for me.
Last thing i got customs put a nice little flyer in there saying what i can anc can't bring into aus
