$74 on the spot fine, if they feel like being antsy about it.

my advice is always have your license on you. if you're someone who regularly breaks road rules, and lets face it, quite a lot of us do, when you get pulled over, the last thing you want to do is make their lives more difficult.
    What is love?

I got a speeding fine and i didn't have my license on me. (qld and Opens) and he didn't really mention anything about it, just checked details etc. I then looked at my speeding fine about 3.5 weeks later and noticed that he ticked the box that said I was supposed to take my license to the station within 48 hours. Obviously, I didn't do that and they didn't really seem to mind

About 6 years ago I went to a gig at sydney uni with two mates.
One of them was totally plastered by the time we left.As we were walking to my car, there was a RBT set up on parra rd.
I asked one of the officers if they could test me,which they did,and said I was OK.

It was rumoured that they were going to change the rules in WA... though I don't think they ever did. You didn't have to produce your licence on the spot*, but you had to go down to the police station within 2-3 days and show it to them

          * P-platers were required to have their licence on them at all times

Here in Mali, if I get pulled over & don't have my international licence, it's down to the police station I go! Which is usually a pleasant experience.. not.

I believe it's 24 hours and it's 1 point and a small fine. Main thing for me is the points, that's a sh!t thing to lose points for. Crock of sh!t.

A friend of mine got let off a drink driving charge (0.03) when she was on her P's (0.00) by saying she was her sister and did not have her license handy.

She then got her sister to take in her license the next day and they said "thanks" and that was the end of it. Didn't even get a fine for no license.

Another friend just got for DD actually... 0.067 or something... by the time they did the blood test he was down to 0.053... he thinks he is unlucky to be done... I think he was lucky not to be done worse or come unstuck.

He had 5 cocktails, 2 CC and coke and a shot of tequila in three hours, then drove three hours after that and was of the impression that would render him sober!!!

I'd be sketchy about driving at lunchtime the next day!!!

I dunno how u can do that. If im drinking i stay away from the car, cos i've already got a tough time of it trying to find insurance.

In NSW u do cop a fine. As already said, the rules changed, where u could produce a license in 48 hours, now u must carry it at all times. I guess the best thing to do would just be to keep ur license on u at all times, unless of course u have lost your wallet, then just go the RTA and get another one, cos its cheaper than paying the fine for not having it while driving.

i disagree with this point. how is this any different to a cop RBTing you when you are in your car? they could give you the all clear, but then you may get tested again (or have an accident) and be over the limit.

ive requested a breath test before and they didn't have any problems with it.

it's not really too clear if it's an offence to not be carrying your license..

Just on drink driving - where I am at the moment (Belgium) the legal limit is 0.08 BAC!!!!

Not that it really matters though as you never see Police let alone RBT's - the police here wait until you stuff up (ie crash) and then you get breathalised.....if you can still draw breath that is!
