Levin; I respect your opinion mate.. but the same could be said about trainspotting. If I understood the subtle differences between each kind of train, and how rare some trains are it'd be more fun than just watching metal barges trundle by. And whilst there is a hell of a lot of technical skill in Indy, they make it look too easy. It's just not entertaining to watch.

Nick; I don't think the Gold Coast is prone to seasonal afternoon storms as tropical climates are. Unless you were a tourist officer you'd be hard pressed calling the Gold Coast tropical... and although it's not uncommon for afternoon storms, they're certainly not regular and predictable unless their is a storm pattern around, which again, isnt regular or consistent.

i think that was Jimmy Vasser...i remember seeing it on teli too...and he's probably right. At least the storm cleared fairly quickly this year....unlike last year, which was a total waste of time - we didn't even bother leaving the hotel room to go down to the track!

(ps. Nick were you driving along the highway behind the grandstands yesterday (monday) - i remember seeing the car in your avatar )

well done to Paul Tracy for winning the championship too :D

I just go to the beach to watch the air show. I love cars and motor racing but those F111's shit on everything. Plus heaps of hot chicks on the beach topless sunbaking. All for free (Indy costs a bit)

Some people think that Astra's and Pugs are enjoyable cars. Personally I think I'd prefer to watch my grass grow than drive one.

            Everyone has different opinions.

Dan, respectfuly I've lived here 14 years, this time of year it is not uncommon for afternoon storms. They moved the race from March to October (smack bang in storm season) and run the race in the afternoon after 2pm. They are asking for it. The odd of it raining are about the same odds as a coin toss.

Shell: Yeah I was, headed into Surfers about 11am.
