A deep purple was actually an original colour choice.

I'm thinking budget now... dosent matter if it's plain but it wont be getting 2pac 'GTR Midnight Purple' with 10 different pearls in it.

It needs a Toyota 1GZ-FE.
V-12 quad-cam 60 valve, all alloy five litre.
They came in the Century limosines, and are pretty thin on the ground but can be found.
I wanted to do a Zed like that, but already have too many projects ...

Bill: Along those lines, one of my project ideas for when I am filthy ritch is to build a Vello Rossa spider replica on a zed chassis with a 1GZFE. Bugger the V8's most people put in the replicas. V12 all the way.

Engine mounts, if you want someone to design AND make them, then expect to talk to a motorsport fabrication mob, theres a guy down in underwood who's name escapes me who prepares Ross Palmers cars. Alternatively if you dummy it up, any fabricator can make it.

This is a rather poor photo of a metallic maroony/burgundy zed living here in the newcastle area, note the colour coded bumpers which seems to have drawn the opinions of some people

looks WAY better in the flesh than my crappy enlarged scan of a photo. (but I do like the idea of a metallic purple - BMW Daytona Violet, Anyone?)

its a nice gold colour, not over the top... though it has like 17" chromies on it they kind of suited it...

i saw it @ pizza plaza clayfield (on junction road)

i think the guy must be a delivery driver there.. so if ur northside maybe check it out one night

My Zed was painted championship white- a sort of faintly yellow white.

Another colour I really liked was Mirage's old 260z shell.
sort of like a pewter.

or you could just do this:

Its funny something like this should come up. Yesterday on my way home from work I saw a very impressive (read original) Z and thought to myself how much I used to love them when I was young.

Sockz - some of the colours already suggested sound great. A deep ferrari red would also look pretty sweet. I personally wouldnt go for anything too wild like fluro lebo pink. The Z's bodyshape does the talking. Good luck with a project that I should have done years ago.
