Bev11s, what sort of materials-cost does $140/m translate to for a medium-sized car; eg the size of a Volvo 240? How many metres would you go through ... and what's a normal cost for leather as well (I'm half-thinking leather seatage with Alcantara grip-inserts).
Soft roaders represent an excellent compromise between the needs of the hardcore 4x4 user and the convenience of a city hatchback. Its clear to see why they have become so popular in todays society.

      Forg,

In case BEV is not around soon enough to answer...my hazy memory of fabric requirements for a trim job is in the region of 10 to 20 metres (perhaps depending on silliness!!)

      cheers

A guy at work who frequents the Fast Fours Forum wants to know if Autometer gauges can be covered in alcantara ??

I sense a business opportunity here...

The macrosuede we use is UV treated and i have never seen it fade. Ive seen Alcantara fade though after 6 months in a car that is parked in the sun all day.

As GTSboy said, the amount of material varies, obviously depending on how much of the trim you want covered.

What is your business name and contact number?

Alcantara is used along with Nappa in Audi S models.

Peugeot 206 GTI and the new 206 GTI 180 also feature Alcantara seats. Very nice IMO.

Boss ... can we talk about personal territories, privately?

My car's actually as finished as it's going to get before a trimmer gets hold of it ... my wallet, however, is rebelling. I do plan to come & visit you when the time comes, however; better to give business to someone you know (even if not all that well) than some stranger.

When I spoke to Warwick about automotive suitability they said it was only warranted as being UV Stable for domestic applications, the nice sounding lady did say it should be OK, but not if the car lived outside.

hey thats my Yellow S3 :D

Ive got Alcantara in my S3 as Pep has shown above...

Its pretty good, but I think ill get full leather next time, its not hard to keep clean but it does get dirty quickly and yes it can fade..

                            Mine hasnt yet!

I generally sit on a towel most days so I dont get it dirty which is a pain sometimes, if im clean and stuff i wont use the towel but generally im in the car after gym, skating or whatever so im sweaty and dirty..
