I've always wanted a pet rabbit, but i was scared that my dog would eat it. But seeing that the poor old bastard will probably be dead in a year (he's 16), it will no longer be a problem.
Fluffy bunny.
Mmmmmmm, pancakes. If i find out who this is, i'll stamp a flag to your butt, and mail you to Iran

Motor magazine (?) Had a picture of the then new VL turbo with the speedo needle off the dial.
The whole point is perception, and the fuel such as picture can add to the fire that is the anti-hoon brigade among other things.
Yes 'we' speed.
Yes 'we' do illegal things to cars.
Yes 'we' drive like wankers from time to time.
But No - we don't need to give the general public proof of such events to give them a real and tangible reason to bitch and moan.
as has been said before, whether the event happened or not is not the point - the picture depicts it to have happened and thats the issue.
Jacko may well be innocent, but it sure doesn't 'look' like it, think people are going to buy his CD much this year???
Some of you just won't get it - ever.

"elsewhere in the world 220kmh is considered par for the course. the 110kmh section of the m1 i personally consider is safe for at least 200kmh in a modern car, its almost up to the standard of the autobahns and cars there regularly exceed 300kmh."
are the autobahns set up for that speed...ie everyone doing that speed or similar.. I have a problem with people finding it appropriate to do speeds like that on a road that is signed 100 - mainly because there will be people on the road doing 100. I don't see why you figure you have a right to drive at over 200 on a 100 road, and think it is quite sad that you would happily endanger your own lives and the lives of others - no matter how good a driver you are there is a huge risk. Go hire a track or buy a slow car......Linda Moore

i think he is trying to say that the roads are close to the standards of the autobahns so if all drivers were used to driving at the mentioned speeds then theoretically it is fairly safe.
remember speed doesn't kill, difference in speed does. (between 2 or more cars anyway
)
BTW i don't take my car above 100, it is too damn scary!state street drift champion 2003

fcuking werd.

there is no such thing as speeding. speeding is a completely false and meaningless word. driving dangerously is very real however and != speeding.

How do you police this?Originally posted by rusty
should all cars and drivers, from the flogged out 15 year old falcon with 2 bald tires and vague steering to the 3 year old bmw m5, from the 16 year old on his Ls to the experienced 35 year old who races karts and does track days, be allowed to do the same speeds?

thats a good point rusty. i got stuck on the coastal highway by ppl doing 70kmHs in a 110 zone now that is dangerous in my mind and a lot of the time they wont move over they just stay there what was even worse it was a good damn yuppi in a porsche causing this!!! and a coupla of old farts in the 110 zone aswell.
i wuld love to hack a pollie that thort of the slogan speed kills and my biggest crud is the 50 zones and 40kms zones do we really need these around high schools?Royalpurple OilsOriginally posted by Carroll SmithThe price of Man in motion is the occasional collision.

It seems everyone loves to critise our road rules yet do not present any viable alternatives. What should the speed limit around schools be then?Originally posted by F|sh

it should be normal residential sped limit 60 kmh not 4o school zones. like 50 zones save more lives than 60 anyway
yes but if you not doing atleast speed limit or 5 under why stick to the right hand side?
i can see the benfit around primary schools and daycar centres but not around high schools.
there is a 50 zone in a pure indutrial zone the only reason for the 50 zone is the cementary across the road? is there a safety benefit there?Royalpurple OilsOriginally posted by Carroll SmithThe price of Man in motion is the occasional collision.

Personally I think school zones are a good idea. During times around schools when there is a lot of young pedestrians near the roads I think it is a good idea for motorists to slow down.
Now commonsense would dictate that most drivers would do that anyway.. but as most of us know, a lot of drivers on our roads do not have commonsense. Therefore these speed limits are enforced to protect our young pedestrians.
Unfortunately the side effect of this is the motorist take a minute or so longer to get to their destinations.

I see first hand everyday the reason why there are 40 zones for schools. Kids don't have the common sense, even high school, to always look before crossing, and it only takes that split second to end a life. You may think that it doesn't make a difference, but that 20Kmph may well be the difference between life and death. And if it only saves one child a year then it is worth it.The customer.
