I had a similar experience many years ago whilst cruising in a mates blown LJ Torana - pissed morons damaged the car because i refused to do a burnout whilst there were people all over the road in front of me !!

I swore there and then never to return and i haven't. The organisers can look at it through rose coloured glasses as much as they like but until they ban alcohol i'll never attend the Summernats again... But hey, i'm not a pissed yobbo so i'm probably not their target audience anyway...

It's a shame such a beautiful car was damaged Steve, good luck to you with it in the future...

I cant believe the child minded like attitude of Chic Henry. thought he would be more adult about this, obviously the $$$ mean more to him than the well being and security of his patrons who are making him the million $ he takes home after each summernats. I think ole Chic would have had the shits on after Geoff Seddons colomn last street machine particularly his last paragraph..."watch this space".

i must have read the letter around 20 times and thinking to myself is he having a go at me because my car got damaged and i told people about it or am i just reading the letter wrong, i'm happy you guys have read it the same way as me, i also noticed in this streetmachine mag that alot of people wrong in complaining about the conditions at the summernats.

he admits he made a mistake that lead to cars getting damaged and then goes on to blame you about that damage. Your car needs a new respray and he gets on a horse that you told some people of the danger at his car show.

You put in all the hard work to have your car damaged through lack of security at his show and he has the hide to say, I want you to still bring your car back but ever talk to me again.

As for the letter...well I think the comment about him not wanting to talk to you again is meant in the context that he hopes there are no more incidents like the one that has occurred so he won't need to speak with you. I'm possibly wrong here but thoight I would put my .022 cents (GST inc) worth in anyway.

I read the letter a few times, and i can't believe how he could be so rude. Steve i'd flat out tell him to get f@cked. He is responsible as the show is a reflection of him (as he states) and because of his lack of organisation you, your car and your family had to suffer. Very mature approach by chic, he is a goose with a short neck.

I just lost all respect for Chic Henry after reading that letter. You bring YOUR car to HIS show and it gets damaged. Then he has the nerve to have a go at you for speaking out about it. What a wanker

Fax a copy to Street Machine as well, i'm sure the editor of that magazine would be more than happy to print it for you and show the world how much of a knob this guy is...

Mr Henry obviously doesn't have a clue. No wonder people are turning away from his event in droves. Less car enthusiasts and top shelf cars turn up every year, and more pissed yobbos turn up instead. I guess beer sales are more important than the safety of everyone else and their cars...
