Kumho MXs look very nice. Great value Max performance tyre that should suit your S3 quite well.

I called around today about tires and one guy was recommending me Kumho 712... I've never even heard of Kumho... they sound dodgy

Anyone had experience with the 712 or MX ?

I must rid these Falkens, I swear my braking distances have doubled since fitting these tyres!!!!

I just got some Toyo Proxis T1-S tyres for the E30 M3. Excellent in th edry, handled th etrack on Saturday well. Havent had them in the wet all that much so I cant comment on wet weather handling. Fairly aggressive tread pattern so should be ok in the wet. No road noise.

          225/45 x 16 cost $220ea

Woop's, forgot to check my post's...

Q: About 4 months, no problem at all... I cant believe the diference between the Dunlops and the Pirelli's... If some one had told me it was such a noticable difference, I would have said 'Tyre is a Tyre'... My mate works for Jax and recommended them and gave me a good price... The only problem for personal driving, if you want to 'drift' or 'launch the lights', you've REALLY gotta provote it... Even in the rain...

S3: Comfort exellent, but wear is not a question to ask me... The front ones are wearing close to nil.... The back ones however...

this is probably more in reference to the tread design i think..... not that i care too much.

give them a month and they'll be rock hard and make your car handle like a bowling ball, same as my set of Poxys did... (And the current Hankooks)
Turns out, far too much has been written about great men and not nearly enough about morons

P-zero nero is a very good tyre but seems to wear to fast. I'm a huge fan of michelin tyres for the road so the pilot sport gets my nod. I think their grip in the dry is as the s03 but seems to last longer before they start to grain. In the wet they are certainly better. But value for money is something debatable.

712s are a decent tyre, but a notch below what we're talking about here. There are some reviews of the MXs on www.tirerack.com compared against Yoko AVS Sport and Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3. The MXs are VERY new, but appear to be a very decent tyre.
