I'm going to Revolution right now, I'll check the prices of what they have.

Harnesses in QLD anyway are not allowed to be used on the street. They are legal to have in the car with a mod plate but the origional seatbelt must be worn in lieu of the harness. Sorta defeats the purpose really.....

thats for post 75 or 76 vehicles i think, or 70 something anyway, i had 6 point sparcos in my n13 with recaro's, the recoaros were ok as they were on redrilled factory runners, still need a plate, but were then legal, the harnesses were allowed to be in there and able to be used on the street but if i was caught using just the harness with out using the factory restraint at the same time, 150 bux and 3 points for the driver, and 150 for your passenger. There for you would also get another fine plus a yellow sticker if you took the factory restraint out. The harnesses were fitted as per AS rules specify which was covered earlier, but because the vechile was 87, it was pointless to have them...
I've been reading through the Qld Legislation and supplementary regulations and the ADRs for the last two hours and can't find anything concrete, I'll keep bashing through and let you know how I go.
Don't worry, thats just the self-preservation instinct, in my experience you can safely ignore it.
Must be time for me to get a mod plate I reckon. :p What a load of horse shit about the harness thing. I can't safely wear the original belt with the seat in there. The guy at Revolution told me a 2" harness with standard type buckle was legal for the street as long as it was blue plated. Anything else is a no go for road use. I like that, so that is what I am going to believe.

I fitted the Sparco 3 point with click thing in the middle and got a mod plate and was told I could use the harness only if the standard seat belt was completely removed. Also got a sparco Ultra seat bolted to the floor no slide adjustment (but no mod plate for that (tee hee)). Have been pulled over a number of times for various things and never had plod problem with the car only the driver, me! Once got a defect for having flashing led's in the headlights hooked up to the alarm. Go figure!!!

If you have a 4 seater car - don't you have to get the car engineered or registered as a 2seater, as you can't have rear passengers with the harness installed? That used ot be the case in NSW, and I can't imagine it would have changed at all.....
FWIW, I would never 'race' with one of the AS based harnesses. In a fire, the buckle can melt, which means you cannot release it, and thus, are stuck in the harness. Also the webbing isn't rated as strongly as the proper 3" open weave belts.

If you are in an inferno hot enough to melt the buckle you ain't going to be releasing anything. If fact, I would argue you are unconscious or already gone. If you haven't died from smoke inhalation you are about to be cooked.

Thats about right, but i think it depends on the mounting points for the harness, if they interfer with acess to the rear seats, ie mounted in the parcel shelf, you need to get it done as a 2 seater, friend had a cage in a torana and the harness were mounted from them, and it didnt stop or hinder access to the rear seats, he often had people in the back while crusing
