Fuel excise is charged at 38.143c/l FIXED. It's a volume based charge, not price. The GST component is the problem, but the states get the windfall from that, not the feds. In fact QLDers get the GST on fuel refunded. If anything all the other states should follow suit, or at least return the extra money they've made since the increase. :neverhappen:
