    ML's are made in america until recently, build quality of a chrysler..

    if you've got that much to spend, why not buy a 600 Grosser? (wouldn't have to change much to turn it into a pimp mobile) it'll be within your budget. why not even a nice old pagoda SL roadster?... (and don't pimp it, just use it)

    you may even be able to get a 190SL within that budget too.

        Pagoda = $45k
        190SL = $45k+

            well shock horror I bought a merc tonight and not what I was talking about I bought a 380sel barge why casue the price was right I was at an auction I checked this car out and it came up unreserved :D I put my car buyers hat on and set a stupidly low maximum and guess what I bought it. the joy of this transaction is if the car a stuffed which I doubt, it was running fine no smoke, panels straight 260 000 klms I can part it out and still make a profit.
            I suggest b4 any of you buy a car through conventional means you should check out the auctions, I could have bought 3 cars plus my merc ( all the other being later than 90 models and still had change from 10 k. :D
            now to find some rims for the sucker :D
            provided the car gets through rwc with out much hassle my plan is to drive it till it drops then leave it on the side of the road or tow it to the local merc wrecker for a meager offering. yes it was that cheap 2k under reserve as it was sold with no reserve :D picks tomorrow

              "Wierd shit" is cheap at auctions. Problem is that "wierd shit" doesn't come up all that often, and you have to be looking around a lot if you want something specific (unless you completely luck-out) ... if all you're after is "wierd shit" then yeah, it can be had cheaply. If you want a reliable fuel-efficient <10yo auto with aircon ... forget auctions.
              Soft roaders represent an excellent compromise between the needs of the hardcore 4x4 user and the convenience of a city hatchback. Its clear to see why they have become so popular in todays society.

                    Said "weird shit" is only "weird shit" to Aussies. A Saab is hardly "weird shit" in Sweden. Likewise, the Mi16 I saw go for $2k the other day. Ok, it was a bit of a shit heap, but the donk is worth more to someone who wants to put it in a 205 GTi.

                        190E 2.6 auto is about as potent as it gets.

                        We don't get Cosworths here.

                                I'm certain Mercedes have never done any turbo car.

                                The Cosworths were a 2.3 or 2.5 litre four.

                                173kW from a 2.3 four 15 YEARS AGO was quite an achievement.
