    Toyota Yaris GR-4 AWD Turbo

Just stumbled across some info on the Toyota Yaris GR-4. It’s been marketed as a homologation special for the WRC car. No definite specs yet but most articles say AWD, Turbo, decent brakes and tuned suspension. From the video they released the AWD looks very possible.

Full details to be released on the 10th Jan.
Looks decent, anyone have anymore info?

Sweet, that works for me. No indication of price?
Mentioned it to my nopics today and she seems keen for it, we are both Toyota people through and through and this kind of makes sense next to the rav4

awd setup will most likely be based on the old starlet awd setup - basically small gt4 setup utilizing the c150 series gearbox. good for later conversions (I have a awd starlet driveline) be nice if we got it in aus. doubt it though

It was going to get launched here at the Australian WRC round but that got cancelled so the launch did too. The spy pics were taken here too. Surely with those happening here there is a very good chance we'll be getting it too.

Having a closer look at the some of the pics, I see a dial on the centre console near the gear lever, maybe adjustable F/R split or drive modes? The I/C Spray button on the right hand side, heated seats, steering wheel button for traction control and a couple of other buttons with steering wheels on them. Brakes ar big red calipers and grooved rotors. Motor is hard to see, there is one picture with the bonnet up and it looks different than the normal yaris motor, also looks different than the 1.2T from the CH-R. Kind of looks similar to the current 2019 Corolla engine cover, but hard to tell.

Am keen but thinking its going to be proced pretty high now, hoping for around $30-$35k, probably north of $40k. But thats pretty high for such a small car....even if it does have lots of fruit.

Yeh, sounds weird hey. Obviously has the rally tyres on it so grip on bitumen is a bit shit but not bad to be able to do a few loops.

I quite like the look of the latest Corolla and sat in a normal one when they were released and they're not bad inside either (fuck back seat passengers or boot space). I reckon it will end up competing on price with Hyundai N's etc so at least $40k.
