I reckon the dealer will be cheesed off having their demo out of action

Had a bit more time getting the seat adjusted. Manage to fit without touching the roof but haven't test driven yet, been flat out.

Super nervous that I won't fit properly and will hate it. Be great not to have to swap to a fixed back just to drive on street.

Surprised Toyota didn't give an early model to the Japanese tuning companies to get a head start on aftermarket parts like they did with the FT86.

Japanese customers got theirs back in September, I think HKS, Cusco etc did get theirs a little earlier than that.

Golebys have chucked an exhaust on too, sounds pretty decent I reckon. Video is on their Facebook page, no idea how to link to it directly. https://m.facebook.com/#!/golebys.pa...ernal&mt_nav=0

So curiosity got the better of me and I took one for a test drive at my local dealer. Last words the salesman said as I was about to pull out, ‘we’ve already had a demo crashed’ yeah ok.

I’m 6’1 with a long torso and had to tilt the seat back a bit to be comfortable, also, anyone else noticed the rear vision mirror is really low? I found myself ducking and weaving to check for oncoming traffic at intersections.

Really impressed with its performance. This one only had 108km, and I have too much sympathy to our right thrash, but it’s suprer torquey for a 1.6l. Gearbox feels great. Brakes feel good. Steering weight is spot on. It sounds great, well, from inside anyway.

Nopics didn’t think it was that great, didn’t like the seating position, and though it rode a bit rough.
She does daily a BMW though.

Might be time to move the 33 on and do something different. It’s the first fun car I’ve driven that’s made me think that.

That is a bit more like you'd expect especially considering it was also apparently 8°C warmer than the Tuners Edge guys were running at as well.

155awkw seemed about right to me to be honest. My old caldina made 155awkw with a 3inch dump pipe and exhaust but otherwise stock car. They were rated at 191kw at the flywheel. Dead stock they seemed to make 130-140awkw, now the Yaris driveline is probably more efficient than something that had it's root in the early 90s but unless it has a dyno mode that runs fwd only awd does sap some power.

More surprised at 1/4 Mile time, caldina was 200kg heavier and was capable of a 13.8 at that power level. Given the power to weight of the Yaris I was expecting closer to a 13 flat, is Toyota doing anything shit like limiting boost in 1st and 2nd like they have historically which is slowing it down off the line?

Someone on one of the Facebook forums shows some data from Tuners Edge showing a 0-60mph in 4.99 secs and a 13.26 @ 103 mph.
