Nice dude. It needs a members ride thread of its own once it passes the checks!

The my10 club spec 10. Negotiated the wanker plates too.

Thanks mate. Nice to have an completely honest and open seller. There is a tiny 5c coin ding in the left door and a bit of paint flake on the scoop but besides that it was time capsule stuff.

the my11’s look great, but in person this car was very nice. It gave me the tingle in the balls I was after and the price we agreed to was fair. Very happy

So I think I just bought my first wrx.

thing was clean as a whistle. Unmodded and went well, it actually surprised me how hard it went!

pending a pre purchase inspection and document check it looks like I need to buy a vape and a can of monster.

Yeah in my brief interaction with them they seemed extremely helpful and happy to answer my questions. The fact they are walking distance from my joint is even better. I think they appreciated I’m not a flatbrim monster energy drinker and just a dad trying to take his kids out for a drive on a nice Sunday arvo whilst dad hears some fkn whoosh noises.

Not a fan of the wide body sedans, the hatches are where it's at. In the midst of turning a Manheim WOVR special into a rally car. Was really impressed with the guys at Pulse Brasher. They removed the Immobaliser system which had one of those Sigma pad systems.

I saw that one today. It definitely got me interested.

the wide body looks so much better. It does have some mods which while are not engine based has me on edge a little.

I looked at insurance today and it surprised me a bit. I’ll have to factor that in as well.

im meeting old mate with the club spec tomorrow. I will see if it gives me the tingle in the balls im after. On face value it looks like one of those anorak kept museum pieces, but that gen is pretty fugly and doesn’t give me that boner that the wide ones do.

its like a head vs heart decision.

I'll take yours for 10k then lol.

So the one I'm looking at is a club spec 10, it's got STi wheels, strut brace, leather seats, gear knob... nothing amazing but one of 250 made. Were the Evo models a similar thing? They seem a lot more collectable.

My thinking is, the car I'm looking at is probably at it's closest depreciation trough (maybe 2-3 years price lowering) In 5 or so years time I want to get rid of it, I'm not taking a massive hit.

It's not a minter.......it's not bad though. Interior needs a good clean. It's going to be really interesting to see what it goes for. There's been talk of $50K+ which is utterly ridiculous. Belongs to a bloke in QLD who was using it as a farm car.......then realised what it was and restored it a bit. Biggest red flag for me was the alignment of the bonnet above the drivers side headlight.

Cool story time. My one has the 001 build plate. Was there when I bought and was there when old mate I bought it from picked it up from Pickles. I'm in a Club Spec Evo group on FB and a bloke posted that 001 was going up for sale soon.....to which I called bullshit as i've got 001. I hit up Subaru and gave them the VIN, who came back and told me it is 058.

I tracked down the woman that bought it from Tom Kerr Subaru over at Ryde and pinged on her on FB Messenger.....not really expecting a reply.......but she got back to me and confirmed that it had the 001 plate on it when she bought it. The dealer made a big song and dance about it when she picked it up. I suspect they've pulled a swifty and had a new plate thing made up.

So i've been living a lie for 15 years.

holy shit, that's my realistic dream car. I'm gonna guess 25k+ if that's a minter.
