Thing is, this hypercar platform is stupid amount of money involved in buyers that have $2M just to spend on a toy. They want the fastest. For a company to fuckup intentionally or not on this level is a huge risk.

I'd like to think nobody is stupid enough to design, engineer &a build a multi-million dollar HyperCar then either

a) blatantly lie and make up a record breaking speed
b) fuck up the GPS telemetry and beleive they beat a record by 80km/h in a car that they didn't intend to go that fast.
c) genuinely design a car to go that fast but fail, while fucking up the GPS telemetry to read it went that fast.

the only other option is

d) they designed and built a car to blitz over 500km/h and they achieved it.

they are American though so I'm leaning towards the 3 in 4 chance of total incompetence now.

Not Vector-style, because the product actually exists, but lots of exaggeration ... the sales equivalent of the sort of engineering "cheating" (call it "alternate rule interpretation") you need to win races at a top level.
