Thanks Driftin, does look pretty nice, but still would love the Blue one :D

And plus that is a bit far away from me. I think I would be willing to go to NSW for a nice car but no further.

So overall , looks like the SSS wins. I think now I am leaning towards this to, not just becuase most people on here have said good things about it, but because, I now know more about it to. And it just sounds better and better all the time

Hold out for the SSS.. you'll find one.

Great cars. The 105kw SR20 motor is pretty solid too.. I didn't
have any problems with either of mine. For an old 2.0 litre motor it seems
to rev pretty well too (7800rpm cutout).

Only problems I had with mine were rattly door trims and a squeak from the clutch pedal (common).

They are great cars the SSS'. I brought a new S2 2000 model and clocked up 45,000kms in it over 1.5 years. The only reason I got rid of it was I wanted a turbo car and it helped me buy my first house.

          Here is my old one:

Wow, they are nice looking cars. Even though I don't like that colour, I still think it looks very nice. And power wise, did you think it was a quick car Drnick ?

Also,. how much did you sell it for if you don't mind me asking ?

I had an N14 SSS before I sold it to buy my 200. In some ways I still miss my SSS because it was such a fun car to drive. Throw a few $$$ at the suspension and they're great to chuck around.

                Hey Johnmiceter,
Yeah it was quick enough for what I wanted. I beat a 351 XD at the local 1/8 mile drags in it too! :D

I sold it for $20,500 it was 1.5 years old with 45,000kms on it. Had a CAI setup, cat back exhaust, lowered and 17's.

Even after having a 185kw atw WRX I still miss the ol' SSS.

So you think I should get one of these little babies :D

And realistically, do you think it's possible to get one of these for $12,000 ?

                  I don't think I could get a 2000 model, but maybe a 98/99 model ?

And would prefer the series 2, because I heard they go a bit faster then the series 1 n15's

The series 2 has the same steering wheel as an S14A 200SX.. a nice leather bound one..

The series 2 was also a lot cheaper brand new so I think its quite realistic you'll get one for 12k.

Someone is pulling your leg.....they're the same car, just different aesthetics. The S2 may be ever so slightly lighter but it's not enough to make any notable difference to performance.

98/99/00 models are all identical, no changes were made during that time.

I bought my S2 SSS in late '98 (nov/dec), I think this was about 2 months after the model change. As has been mentioned there is no performance difference, only changes in equipment. The Series 2 did hold their value rediculously well, I traded mine about 12 months later on my first 200 for 2k less than I paid for it (including ORC). Really great car that one, best engine in the class IMO, good fun and very reliable. In the end the reason they've held their value so well is pretty apparant by this thread.

Well this is where I got that info from. Not sure if it's right or not, becuase I don't know much about cars.

I think the first one is a series 1 is it and the 2nd a series 2 ?

Correct. The first column lists foglights as an accessory which is a dead giveaway.
