      Exactly... Car used must weigh more than the car towed + the trailer... Combined Vehicle Mass (CVM)...

      For the car he is going to be towing, the only thing close to the correct CVM would be a F100/350 which has a CVM of 4450kg... Meaning the F100 = approx 2200kg or overboard (in his case) F350 = approx 2800kg would give him the left over of 2250kg to use for towing... These trucks are a little over board for what he needs, but are legal...

      I've registered around 5 F350's and 2 1 tonners in my career... The best LC (Lift Capacity) I ever had with a 1 tonner was 830kg...

      This is why now 1 tonner tow trucks are banned...
