you're all crazy. In 12 years time there will only be electric/hydrogen/hybrid powered things, all speed governed to the limit by satellite. Auto scrubyTM pedestrial avoiding systems that sync with traffic lights to make you stop or record violations. They'll probably charge thousands a year to register 'old' cars to the road and charge fuel at 10 bucks a litre.
Nah ok thats too much of a downer thought, but I don't even own a car anymore so I thought id throw it out there

Well I am 30, when I got my licence I bought a Datsun 200B SSS. Cheap and cheerful. Drift only in the wet..
It was a medium priced car from 1979- so 5 years before my birth.
My son is 6 (and new one is 2 weeks.. sleep. what sleep??!@!11!!)
So five years ago was 1999. Medium price I guess Subaru Forester or Liberty, Commodore VTIII six pack, or maybe a Landcruiser or something?
I would prefer him to have a mini panno like I bought after the Datto. Taught me a lot- like how to push start a car on your own.... And maintenance, and rebuilding engines, gearboxes, ....
One way or the other they are pretty talented cars. He can drive now though, so it should be ok!
BTW I paid $100 for my datsun- wonder if these cars will be worth the same in another 12 years?
