Any opinions on 2DMAX magazine, saw one the other day with a 2jzgte soarer conversion, but have never heard of that mag before so I didn't bother with it.

      mmmnn shopping trolleys

      i mean.. soft porn

Sigmas were probably hit on for a bit of a cheap laugh... Don't be too cut man, no matter what car you have someone out there is going to hate it/rag on it.

Martin Donnan writes for speed magazine under the pseudonym Nino D'Montarn (an anagram of his name). If Martin writes for the magazine it might as well be called High Performance Imports.

i don't see what the problem is - there are 2 or 3 workshops in Sydney dedicated to throwing brand name parts in areas the owner's don't understand.

Now there's a magazine these cars can be featured in - look at the latest issue for proof :D

I didnt realise Nissan invented the motorcar. Now I understand why HP imports has a GTR special every 2nd issue.
I dont drive a turbo sigma.Never owned one either.Though,in my time I have crossed a few that would give a Lib RS a run for its money.

Speed has a couple of interesting articles from time to time (i.e. going through the changes from the Evo VI to the Evo VII), but it almost like there's a Skyline of some description in nearly every issue.

Personally, I wouldn't mind a decent mag that covered late model Jap cars, Aussie cars and a few Euros, but with no rice. No elitism whatsoever or bias towards a particular marque or group, but just to appreciate good cars for what they are.

Another thing I can't help but notice is that there are magazines for V8s, 4-cylinders and rotaries, but pretty much none for 6-cylinder cars. Methinks there's a niche waiting to be filled there.

As for 2DMAX, I've got a couple of issues of it. It's mainly cars, gadgets, tits and so forth, with some rice thrown in for good measure. Don't think I really need to describe it any more than that.

If I ever make as much money as any of the magazines named I will be very very happy (and still in business!). Simply put most of the magazines are designed by the two big publishers in australia APC and Fairfax. They are very aggressive and cashed up and knowledgeable about what they do. Each mag has its planned demographic both on the buyer and advertiser side of things. There is sometimes planned overlap, but this is relatively rare (from what I have been told) and they have been known to both buy and shutdown possibly successful competition and also rapidly start up opposing magazine e.g. beat utes started up, now we also have Brutes and Aussie utes?...one each from Fairfax and APC (won't hear a bad thing about both of them, all vcery nice people who won't be interested in a little motorsport magazine niche because there's no money in it etc etc).
Its a funny business but for those capable of the economy of scale its cheap enough.
I don't care a damn for your loyalty when you think I am right; when I really want it most is when you think I am wrong.

I used to buy Max Power back in the day before it turned. It wasn't that bad a magazine then.

I saw the Speed Sigma vs Exa "comparo" as what I think it was meant to be, something funny. If you take something like that seriously, you'd not go for very long before either you swore at someone, or the person you were about to swear at punched you in the head.

But I can't talk. I used to own a Cordia.

I'd probably prefer a good-nick Sigma to some boring Skyline too.
Soft roaders represent an excellent compromise between the needs of the hardcore 4x4 user and the convenience of a city hatchback. Its clear to see why they have become so popular in todays society.

Tell me how a Skyline with 500 rwhp is boring? Compared to a Sigma? Seriously.

What is this, Cardigan & Knitting Forums Aus?

I know there are some nice Sigma's out there, and I had my time where I thought my 20 year old Mitsubish was the best car out there, but then I woke up.

are you guys saying you like sigmas just to try and be different and cool. You all remind me of those people that listen to alternative music, simply because its NOT on the radio, because anything on the radio is commercial crap. In reality, they just look like tossers.

Why would you want to drive a (lets face it) UGLY, 20 year old shitbucket, instead of a newer, better set up, easily modifiable car. Theres a reason people build skylines, because they are good looking and have heaps of potential. Theres also a reason people dont modify sigmas too often, ill let you work out why
