If you have to ask that, you don't understand. But you will grow older and wiser, and it will make much more sense to you.

Good looking? In your opinion only. Plenty of people think Skyline's look like a POS.

Heaps of potential? Sure, you'd expect that from a car that's 10 years younger

Reason why people don't mod Sigmas often? Because most people wouldn't have the guts or originality to do something different AND cool....

This seems to be degenrating into the ol tribal "if you don't think the same way I do then your head is full of shit" sort of thinking.
Perhaps what we should applaud is anyone with a car interest who enjoys their car at whatever level they can/want to as long as they do it safely and as long as they respect others.
After all it should be about having fun.
I don't care a damn for your loyalty when you think I am right; when I really want it most is when you think I am wrong.

          Back to the original topic...
I agree with the majority's opions regarding Speed magazine.
To take it further, I think Zoom is no better now...

I have just finished reading the latest issue with the RVR on the cover and it was...well...crap! Glaring technical errors the whole way through and a general lack of real information. I seem to buy it as a force of habit now...It is kind of like my monthly craving of Maccas. I think I really want it so I get it, eat it, and then feel like shit and wonder why I ever bought it in the first place.

I must admit that I am really looking forward to my first issue of Race magazine.

          *stokes fire*
Every month I go out and either watch or compete at the local sprints. There are endless Skylines there. They are quick, granted, but they are dead boring!! I'd much rather watch something different out there even if it was a little slower.

Zoom was good when Julian Edgar was on board.

I was going to say exactly the same thing but was not quite as game as you!!

All gripes aside, the Coach did know how to make an interesting and somewhat technical read.

I just like the left of field approach- oxygen injected camira. liquid to air intercoolers.

every second modified car is a skyline. I'd prefer a Sigma rather than looking like a clone. For me at least, there is a lot more to a car than handling and how fast it goes. I have more respect for originality and creativity.

flygti was stoped n G'ed up to do a a burn out,n as we all no it doesnt take much to get him g'ed, so he did the burnout but who could blame him he had earned it with the effort he put in to be in the cruise and help it go ahead safely

What is this, Cardigan & Knitting Forums Aus?

I know there are some nice Sigma's out there, and I had my time where I thought my 20 year old Mitsubish was the best car out there, but then I woke up.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe, and from this side only! The flight of a half-man, half-bird. Dinosaurs nuzzling their young in pastures where strip-malls should be. Cookies on dowels. All those moments lost in time; gone like eggs off a hooker's stomach. Time to die.

Yeah I have more restecp for someone who's spent the time building up an old car to go faster and handle better, than someone who's bought a skyline and bolted on a few bits from the HKS catalogue..

I agree about the zoom thing too. We dug out some of the older issues at my parents place last time I was there and things have changed a lot. There was a lot more technical stuff such as DIY water injection etc. There was a GTR in one of them, but they were talking about it as if it was an unusual car, unlike the current latest zooms which have a GTR in each and every issue almost.

How many months old is the Zoom issue with the the yellow vl panic on the cover? ts the latest one here and ages back there was a big speel on the inside cover about how nz would be getting up to date issues instead of the 6 months old issues we were getting.

I also agree with the zoom downhillage, technical diy stuff rather than jumbo budget workshop built gtrs was so much better. All this magazine talk reminds me I need to send my sub to race mag off.

hehehe, I remember that build up.

Maybe in another 10-15 years some other "motoring" journo thats been on a few magazines will bash out an article on the fallacies of modifying Rodeo's?

There's a purple Sigma turbo with a huge intercooler & Simmons OM 17's that must live near me. Very nice car indeed. Although I guess you can make almost anything nice with enough money.
