by about 13 seconds! I suspect that teh Ferrari would have wiped the floor with teh GTR had the Italian had a better start.

Haven't seen the vid yet (slow connection) but I will say this, everything I've seen raced at Santa Pod (never in person obviously) the result hinged massively on lane prep. I don't want to put down an overseas strip, but I've seen a bunch of cars getting ugly due to inconsistent traction and there seems to be some major differences lane to lane (i.e. sometimes one seems prepped a lot better than the other)

All in all I've probably seen 1-2hrs of actual races from there (as in cumulative race times, not 2 hrs, with all the crap goings on between each run included in the times)

EDIT - and now that I've seen the clip, I stand by my comments, with the only addition that either it is the track, or muppet(s) at the wheel.

did you see the bulk wheel spin on the fazz??

prolly a 90% chance it wasn't a missed 2nd gear - most 430's would be flappy paddles, esp. in the states.

Kewl Vid, you think that ferrari would have whiped the GTR, possibly. but i have a Best motoring Video of race, which includes, Ferrari F50, Porche GT2, porche 911 turbo, Lamborgini Muriculego, lancer EVO and a Nismo R34 GTR.. sure enought the GTR kick all of their asses, but just misses out on first place. coz of a road hoging porche, but the GTR had fastest lap times.

That's a tough call... a Nismo R34 is tuned with bulk Nissan factory money. You can bet all their JGTC trained engineers are on the ball with their flagship.

The only threat is the large engined supercars (Lamborghini) and the blown large cap cars like the 996 Turbo. Then the RB26 has its hands full.

Then again if you walked into your local John Cant or Scuderia Veloce with $500,000 hanging out of your back pocket, you couldn't get a 430.

You can have a fleet of 34s instead but it's not the same.

                              T.

Looks like the F430 wheels spins in first and then he shifts too early into 3rd instead of 2nd and then goes back into 2nd, which is all 2 late
