I don't think it's too bad, considering they had $600,000 to do it.

Although really, being a Toyota fan n all, it's about time that ToyAus decided to grow some balls and ask the motherland "oi, can we do some stuff, since you give us boring crap" and to get the nod.

You just can't do a front drive sedan thats going to have anywhere near the natural handling balance of a decent rear driver on the track. It just won't be fast enough, and will spin away its power out of tighter bends. Unless they had Neal Bates driving the Camry and the advertising dept driving the other cars, I can't see how it can be in the ballpark, let alone quicker/better on the track.

The early Integrea Type-R's where as good as nearly any RWD. (much as I hate to admit it ...)
THey had three diffs in the front and a computer to control the torque biasing one, to make the laden (outside) wheel get the majority of the power, thus almost eliminating wheelspin and understeer.

Eh? I think it's just a garden variety torsen, Bill, with a high-ish torque bias.

Camry's are not cars, they are transport appliances. People buy them to blend in. Trying to make them desirable is a futile waste of time and money.

I could fix it all preety easily.

Change it to a rear drive outfit and fit a VVT 2JZGTE

Then i would just have to work out the looks department a little :p

nope they had computer controlled torque split diferential, that sent different amounts fo torque to each front wheel when cornering.
