Talking about the turbo 6 in the falcon...

Anyone been following the story about Ford recalibrating XR6T when they come in for warranty/servicing?? Supposedly the owners are complaining about reduced performance.

          Sturmovik,
Yep looks like a Territory on sand, but the sand don't look too soft. I'd just like to see how they perform in the soft stuff, you know the real soft sand that is even hard to walk in! Purely out of interest, not to bag the thing in any way.
rj-astra, are they trying o combat the clutches breaking. WHat have they done about that for the Territory application with the 6 turbo.
Are they going to offer the turbo in two whel drive as well?

              Assuming it is possible.
I would put something witty here but I am too pissed and dont give a fu......

Sounds like the older SsangYong, when they first came out with the big Merc 6 the only option was an auto, because aparently it was the safest for the drivers because of the power of the engine, well according to the guy I sopke to at the Motor Show that year anyhow... :rotflol: (motor show wannabe reps?)

I wouldn't be surprised. Every other manufacturer has been doing this on various models for years. First time I've heard about power going DOWN though

Well the story was in the Telegraph drive section on Sunday.. so take that as you will But supposedly it had something to do with the parameters of the overboost control (whatever that is). The recalibration was for "warranty" reasons. Then they correlated that to recent XR6T testcars feeling less spritely than they remember them.

Yes, there had been overboost issues. That and fuel use is what put me off one.

There will be a fairly tough turbo territory running around Bayswater in Melb in about 2 weeks...its silver, lowered with 20 inch shiny wheels.
